I'm re-watching now.
Simon's entrance shows Dan Harlan's incredible spirit and sense of humor. I love when blokes like Simon, who performs for REAL people, pass on advice concerning audience management and how to treat an audience member that has agreed to help you on stage ( which can also be someone's kitchen) It applies not only to professionals, but hobbyists as well. If you do this mostly for fun, as I do, your performances one on one or for a group will improve by following these tips. |

Hi Guys,
Just popped in to say thank you for the nice comments ... both Dan I had a ton of fun at Penquin. Their professional approach really is superb! BTW Dan and I worked out that opening piece together ... it just seemed like the right thing to do at the time! Best wishes to all, Simon |

With some performers (like Simon), there is so much potential material that it's often a challenge for them to pin-down precisely what they'll be doing. So, although Simon did cover a great deal of material in 3+ hours, he did not do the items you listed. Perhaps we'll ask him to join us again at some time for more craziness and I'll force him to do all of that material... plus "Lilly Longlegs!" --Harlan |

Thanks Dan
I enjoyed the lecture, considered it to be one of the better ones and felt it gave value for money. It may be worth Penguin checking the add copy on their site though, now we are post event. I have recently picked up Simon Says and Son of Simon and think a 'part 2' lecture would be good (to see more of his thoughts and live work). Keep up the good work hosting. |
