This would have been the trick everyone would have remembered if it had been done on Letterman's magic week.

I did something for friends that were celebrating their anniversary ( not a professional paid gig ). I love the anniversary waltz plot, developed first by Wes James, then Christopher Carter ( who was first to publish the use of a DB ) and Doc Eason. It's my favorite for couples.

With Iceolation, I did a "Like two lives becoming one, your love is frozen in time" patter ( don't beat me up.... too badly;-)

All anyone wanted to talk about was how the card got in the block of ice, how could I have a block of ice, etc. For the group, It actually eclipsed the 2 cards fusing. Our friends were all giddy about their cards and kept trying to peel them as if they were stuck together, everyone else was shocked about the card frozen inside the block of ice.

This is the big one. This is the trick that gets people talking. If this was done on TV, the forums would ignite with chatter about it. And unless they had the smarts and money to go through trial and error creating a stainless steel prop to duplicate it, all they would ask for years is "when will this be released?" ( like they did with the signed card in a sealed pack ).

I think it's important to let the break the ice. If it's a man, he can take the block in his hands and snap it in two.

If you worked a posh gig, do it over a plate and then let the ice chunks slowly melt in the plate. They'll play with the ice long after your gone.
