I want to make a close up pad similar to the ones I have seen on the web. They have the secret pockets underneath to hold a jumbo coin, gaffs, etc.
Any ideas on how to go about this?

If you want to modify an existing pad, I would think that a layered approach might be best. Regular pad, no modification, middle pad - with razor knife cutouts for coins/cards, bottom layer to keep rhe couns from talking on a hard surface and to make them a bit easier to get. I would use contact adhesive to hold it together.
As for the layers themselves, I work around conveyor belts and can get various types of plastic and woven material. Depending on your area or circle of friends you might find a source for discarded belt. Alternatively, you might look at using mouse pads, some are available in large size, or cheap close-up pads that have suffered damage. |
