Here is a new convention next year on the east coast that some of you may consider attending.

What a great lineup! I wish it was closer as this looks like it will be quite the convention.

Who's behind this as the promoter putting this on? Tony?

Devin, forgive me, but didn't you say you were leaving the café and never coming back?
Oh wait, my bad - seems like that topic was deleted, so apparently it never happened... http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j&......DKBcuYfQ

Yes, that I understand but who or what is their connection to mentalism? I understand their credibility in producing events, but what's their connection to Mentalism? Just curious. They have to have someone inside to know who, what and why, and to get such a nice lineup. Devin, are you affiliated with them other than appearing at the event?

Looking on the webpage under the Tony Spina tab in the first paragraph, it appears that Eric Citron is the creator of this convention with Tony as a background consultant.

All of us were asked to come do this to honor Tony who has been very ill lately. Eric was with Tannens for many years and worked with Tony. He has quite a background in magic and mentalism. Tony suggested Eric contact us, we all agreed. I came back to post this as a favor to Tony and let mentalists know about this event. I owe it to Tony to tell you guys...so here I am. |

Gotcha, thanks for the explanation and details. Tony is a remarkable man and I think this will be great and I look forward to it. I also think it's great for all of you to come together for this. Is this the final lineup or are more surprises and guests forthcoming?

Eric is still looking for talent, he asked me to suggest people to him. The five of us are who he went after first. I assume someone else will be added. Marc is doing his entire 40 minute show on Saturday night. I think at the present time I am the opening act for Saturday and will be doing a 2 hour lecture sometime during the event. Marc Salem will also be giving one of his RARE lectures. Of course the big question is WHO will be doing the spoon bending on the evening show. I have wisely passed on this myself, I guess Richard and Banachek will have to decide between them since they both feature it and do it well.
What about Book Tests on the evening show? Marc features them, and so does Ted. Eric will have his hands full making sure we performers don't duplicate our effects. I have made him aware of this potential problem since he is considering Saturday to be a public show. Can't have everyone doing book tests, especially if the general public comes. I don't envy Eric in lining up the Saturday show. |

Dueling pianos have been quite successful, so maybe dueling book tests or dueling spoon bends have a future.
