So, it is that time of year when my wife wants my wish list again. At the top is a copy of a book that still does not seem to exist. Yet.

I'm not trying to rush you, Payne, but if you are nearly done with your medieval magic book, tantalizing hints would be very welcome!

It's been on hiatus for a while as I had to prepare my MAGIC Live presentation and my Magic and Meaning PEP Talk https://vimeo.com/77456429 But now that those two terribly time consuming tasks are done I can resume in the writing. No release date as of yet. But I'm pretty sure it won't be done by Xmas.

Oh, yeah, like there's anything more important than keeping both of your potential customers happy. Geez, man, you are passing up at least three sales by taking so long!

I jest.

Any update on whether you will offer a DVD with it? I remember this as a subject of discussion months ago. In truth, while I would love to have you explain things on the DVD, I'd be happy with something shot on a home camera, just getting your act. I learn from books just fine, but a video of the performance would be really great to have. Just saying.

Greetings and Salutations Master Payne,

I look forward to the day your book is available. I will be only to happy to be your fourth customer.

That being said, I would like to thank you for your column in the November 2013 issue of Magic. I have found myself looking to step well outside of my comfort zone in creating a whole new act and finding a different path.

Thank you for your inspiring words!

Was this Magic Medieval Book ever produced? I would be interested in knowing more.

Excellent question. If it was, I missed it, and my Christmas list can come early!

Well, I do have faith that it will be well worth the wait. Doesn't make it easy to wait, but I can. Honest. I'll only pester you twice a year. Maybe thrice. But you know there's a market, at least! (There are at least 7 of us who would buy it in a minute!)

Y'know, I bet I'm not the only one who would happily pay $20 more for a DVD that is just a basic home video of you doing your shows for an audience. Like the clips on YouTube, but as a whole show. It would help a lot to put the performance together with the explanation in the book. And if you also shot some video of explanation and your thinking with each effect, it would mean a lot to more than just me.

Just sayin'...
