This is by far the easiest trick I know but I've found it fun and enjoyable to perform.
I keep a journal of my always chaning and developing setlist and therefore I'd like the original name of the effect. Check it out at 4:20 in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmpHkmjV0P0 Sune! |

It's OLD. The principle is in The Discoverie of Witchcraft (1584) - "In the beginning of your shuffling, shuffle as thicke as you can; and in the end throw upon the stocke the nether card".
The gag or bit is pretty much in the spirit of the gags Scot describes too. It can p*ss some people off, so I keep it for the right kind of company preferably when beer is involved... Scot has this to say about cards: "HAVING now bestowed some waste monie among you, I will set you to cards; by which kind of witchcraft a great number of people have juggled awaie not onelie their monie, but also their lands, their health, their time, and their honestie." Dude. It's like he knows us... |

Fantastic!!! Thank you so much for the reference as well.
Yes, I find this trick to be most effective when even (?) I have a few too many;) |

It may be old and it may be simple, but it is a killer trick. Look at it this way: You know you were fooled.
