"Sword of Damocles" from that album has always been a favorite. I'm playing that and many others today.

My ex wife and I saw the Velvet Underground at a small coffee house in Bryn Mawr, PA in either 1967, 68, or 69. He was a little skinny guy with a powerful voice. RIP Lou

Can't get Perfect Day out of my head - which is a bit inappropriate but still a tribute to his talent.

" a small coffee house in Bryn Mawr"
That must have been the Main Point, a place I practically lived in in high school. What a great club. |

The Main point was a legendary venue. I saw James Taylor, Cat Stevens, and the Boss there before the rest of the world heard about them. It only held 100 people, but can you imagine seeing Bruce Springstein there. One time a guy came up behind me, said excuse me, and went up on the stage. That guy was Bruce trying to fight the crowd to go on.

I know. Some of the folks I saw there: Bonnie Rait, Stevie Goodman, Dave Van Ronk, Leo Kottke, Jackson Browne with David Lindley, Chris Smither, Jerry Jeff Walker...and so many more. I used to do the Sunday open mice.

I probably saw you there. Open mic at the Main Point always had first class amateur musicians performing there.
