I think it would be interesting to hear about your favorite coin routine using gaffs or not, particularly if they are based on marketed effects, books, DVDs, etc. and if so, what are they based on.
For example, here is my current favorite that is based on marketed effects: 1. I have my own humorous routine using the gimmicks from the "Orient Express" by Mark Mason. I use mostly his same moves, with a few other easy moves such as false transfers, a paddle move with coins, and coins across using methods described by Greg Wilson on one of his really old DVDs (can't remember which), but he also described it the Penguin Live download. 2. I follow this with a coins across with signed coins with my own custom made version of sleeve star by David Jay (my version is easier to use, works with both sleeves, and doesn't require me to have my hands behind my back, and doesn't require setup before performing. If you purchase David's DVD, you can probably figure out a more permanent solution. To be fair, my more permanent solution makes me limited by what I must wear to perform this.) 3. I sometimes follow that up with Exact Change by Greg Wilson (Also taught on the Penguin Live download). I do this sometimes to prove that my pockets are empty, given that the Orient Express routine goes into the pocket a few times. In my version of the Orient Express, my pocket ends up empty, with the exception of the Exact Change gimmick. I would love to hear about yours. Thanks, KJ |
