Creating a great relationship with the kids is very important. Also keep in mind that you really should also strive to have a professional image. This means you should be dressed nicely, and present a good image towards the kids and your audience. Image is as important to your show as your props and promo materials.

Your hair should look as if you meant it to be that way. It can be long and messy if that suits your character BUT it should look INTENTIONALLY long and messy otherwise clients will see YOU (an not your character) as the slovenly one.
