Can't seem to find any topics discussing this but on Blaine's "Real Or Magic" special he did a version of Triumph that I have not seen before that was done to Jaden Smith (Will Smith's son). It makes use of a cellphone which I believe was a real photo (if you look in the reflection in the background, you can see the photo actually being taken on the iPhone). I haven't taken time to dissect the effect by watching it repeatedly but wanted to know if someone could shine some light on this effect and where to check it out. Your help is much appreciated.

Very clever presentation of a simple principle...think about what gaffed deck is mixed face up and face down on one side, but restored on the other. (except the selected card) (Now remember that Jaden Smith thought of the card. In order to prevent exposure, I will send you a pm.)

I understand your theory, but wasn't the photo taken prior to him asking him which card he was thinking of?

You are absolutely correct. I explained my theory on how the card was thought of before the photo in a pm with Christian. If you want, you can shoot me a pm and I will discuss it with you.

I can't wait to pick it up! I am really curious to see the workings of the impromptu version.

But david blaine said: "You can change you mind if you want". What if Jaden did chance his mind at the end ?

I looked at the demo video. Why would you have to insist "face down, face down" when you ask for the card to be put back in a *mixed* deck. It's illogical...

Ado, it goes face down in the mixed deck so you , as the magician, don't see it. Otherwise you'd know what card it is.... Right...

Yeah, Blaine did Asi Wind's Double Exposure. It's an impressive effect but it's not easy to learn.

Though I love Asi's AACAAN and don't regret that purchase, this one disappointed me because the key move is a challenge and a pressure fan is required and I am hopeless at that. Of course, I can work on those things, and in the meantime I can do a gimmicked version Asi talks about even though I don't think it is as strong. The other disappointment is that Asi's original works with a physically selected and replaced card. Blaine does a thought card version where the spec names his choice after the deed is done and fan is photographed. AND the spec can change his mind. That's what I hope would be revealed but that bit is not part of Asi's main treatment. I am keen to learn your thoughts so if you would consider a PM from me I would be grateful. Les |
