I've been performing magic for many years but just started venturing into "kid shows"... I'm having a blast performing for kids and kicking myself for not doing it sooner... I don't have a lot of "kid magic" but that's ok, I learned its the "action" that grabs the kids, "interaction and reaction"... there are a couple of things that I do that get great reactions and The Magic Tea Kettle is one of them... here's the ad where I got mine : http://bobsolarimagic.com/shop/Magic%20T......ory_id=0 , I paid $41.95 and it comes with silks!!! can't beat that... there's a video demo too... highly recommend this and in the next couple of days will post more...

Thanks for the tip on this effect. One thing I ot iced when I read the description of The Magic Tea Kettle is it stated: "Supplied complete, less silks." It still looks like a good value though, if the quality is decent. I have never ordered from this site, have others here?

I had this in my Library Show last year and it went over quite well. I wanted a much larger load chamber than comes with the "standard" version so I built my own. I was able to get a small stuffed rabbit, a 20' streamer and a silk fountain into it. I was also able to use a more vintage looking kettle as well so it fit into the Mad Hatters Tea party theme I used it for.

Payne: that's freakin genius...crazy creativity but I like that lol...
charliecheckers: no worries on the silks, it comes with them... I "converted" from close-up magic to kids shows and purchase from this site all the time... they always have deals like 10% off, free trick giveaway or free shipping...i got my popsy wand and a few other things from there too... Junior

PM Bob Sanders here on the Café, he sells a band of silks that will extend twenty to thirty feet produced from the Teapot. It's killer. Just tell the kid to keep pulling the silks out.
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

Like Payne, I also built my magic tea kettle. I needed a certain type and size so I went shopping for tea kettles! It took me a long time to find one like I needed, but I finally did and I love it. I don't use it in every show but it is a large part of one of my closing routines that is choreographed to music.

I like that the water pours out different colors. What is the finale supposed to be?

I like the band of silks idea...might just go that route... I currently use the tea kettle then move into the "silk blow tube"....makes for a smooth transition...
