Good point Eric - that would add what - $3.00 to their cost? The WPR review boys didn't even mention that aspect, and it is a good point.
Well I just ordered a blank deck since I didn't have one on hand. Ugh

I knew it. That's terrible service, especially to a newbie who would be thinking WTF, upon opening.

If you are buying an effect that is advertised as having an all blank deck finale, thm it should come with all that you need to perform it, or, at least tell yu that its a seperate thing you will need to purchase. I live on an island and would be most annoyed if after waiting for it to arrive I then had to make another order and wait yet again.

So, it's a gimmick never seen before :true.
Now, you can do exactly the same effect with some basics sleight of hand. Does it Worths to buy it? NO it doesn't. |

Is invisible deck better using sleight of hand? 😄 Cool your jets and let's see what this thing is about. I assume the card box is more relevant to the gimmick obviously then the cards since this comes in blue or red. And I assume that if it's a bike box then you need bike cards. Why they left out blank cards is stupid though but if the idea and gimmick are great I have a forgiving nature.

Nothing wrong with sleights but different tools for different situations. I use science friction to improve my DL and E counts. Cheating? Not as cool? So what. From the spectator's view looks the same if not cleaner, and what the spectator sees and experiences is what really matters in the end. I look forward to seeing THIS new tool along with others and then we can decide whether this is an improvement over sleights. Void sounds like a Blizzard type effect.

It doesn't come with a deck of cards at all. The demo was pretty bad. They didn't specify that you needed anything else. LUCKILY it turned out to be a cool effect that I can add to my routine. It sucks sometimes but some purchases are a gamble. I have been burned many times in the past with my magic purchases and have been delighted by many as well. I am talking about the ones with poor advertisements or descriptions. Give it a try. The idea is good and with some imagination the effects possible are great.

Ok, I'm typing this after making it up this morning - it would have taken less than 5 minutes, but I made a version in Phoenix cards - Pretty simple to do if you've got a good magic stationary supply drawer! So it took me about 15 minutes to make a version in another brand of card.
I didn't have a spare blank deck to hand, but I did have a 1-way force deck of jokers. Just showed it to my partner and she thought it was great. I used a 'jokers wild' presentation for the final reveal. It's such a simple method (can't believe nobody has thought of it before!), that I think I'll definitely utilise for other effects. I'm pleased with the purchase, and would also recommend it. |

This comes with a well-produced dvd, a Bicycle card box and a gimmick. The dvd is basic at best and weighs in at less than 6 minutes I believe but the teaching is clear. It is done to music with captions. VOID does not come with a blank deck and, as I've mentioned before, I think that is a big miss. Both the trailer and the copy on the dvd case refer to the blank deck finale. Yet nowhere in the trailer or on the dvd case do they tell you that you need to supply your own blank deck. Intentional or not, that's shady in my book and I'm sure there are going to be quite a few purchasers that feel ripped off when they realize no blank deck is included.
The dvd teaches three handlings. Card to your pocket. Card to spectators pocket/wallet and the main VOID effect. The first two effects are decent, but the main VOID effect is clearly the best of the lot. Unfortunately, the dvd does not include a full performance of any of the effects. The selection/viewing of the selected card is the critical moment in all three effects and you never get to see it in real time on the dvd. You get artsy slow motion views from the performer's point of view, but you don't get to see how you would do it in the real world. It's hard to describe without tipping the method but suffice it to say, the viewing of the card by the spectator after they select the card is not what you would expect for a normal pick a card trick. You have to handle the card before they get to glimpse the card. To me, that is not logical and because you never get to see an actual performance, you don't even get to see how Skulkor justifies the necessary actions. I really wanted to like this. Unfortunately, I don't. The method does work but, to me, the necessary handling is too unmotivated and I think there are better ways to accomplish the same effect. |

I have now tried the Void effect with the Blank finally a few times and have had great reactions. I am using Void after a Hypnosis warm up and the outcome of the chosen card is attributed to hypnotic suggestion. I like this a lot.

I found by turning the box around 180 degrees the display is a lot similar to other card techniques (this should make sense to anyone who has this). I think this will help with motivation. Also concerning motivation, you know how the regular procedure goes, but the spectator doesn't. Don't feel guilty and just do it. I can see why this was getting visceral reactions from the spectators in the video. It's pretty strong. Looking forward to trying it out. Woodfield |

Just got mine.
It's good, but also a bit weird as to how the spectator is able to see the card. It should definitely fly by them if you have good managing skills. I am yet to try this out yet or practice it but after seeing the video, this could definitely be something I may put in my act. However, what I don't understand is- this effect can also be easily achieved with a DL (?). Someone correct me if I am wrong. |
