What's the difference between the out-of-print Annemann's Practical Mental Effects and the Dover Annemann's Practical Mental Magic? Is it the same material?

Same material. Just the title is different.

Practical Mental Effects on your shelf will give you more "street cred".

I figured it was a "status buy." Thanks for saving me $45!

Whether someone refers to the book as "Practical Mental Effects" or "Practical Mental Magic" will usually indicate how long he/she has been doing mentalism.

The Jinx has so much more to offer. I always point to that when asked.

If you have the complete file of the Jinx, you really don't need Practical Mental Effects any more than you need a book AND its Reader's Digest condensed version. Just the PME's Table of Contents would probably do you, so that you could reference the specific effects that were selected for inclusion in PME (that is, if the names weren't changed for the book).
Many of the most influential effects from the Jinx are reprinted in PME, although the selection wasn't Annemann's. There are many more gems to mine from the Jinx in addition to the ones excerpted for PME. |

I meant in terms of practical mental effects/magic being a classic text, but yeah technically you got me on that one ;-)

In PMM the name of the effects creator is listed under the name of the effect.
