I believe the vanishing bird cage was invented by Buatier de Kolta.

Hi thanks for the reply I mean the large cage on table where you put maybe 5 or 6 doves cover with a cloth lift up and the cage has gone

It is far from new. When I owned American Artist Enterprises back in the early 60's we were booking agents for magicians using the Pneumatic models. It is what I still use.

Right!
The first time I can recall seeing the big cage vanish was 1953. (Channing Pollock did it.) Most of the pro's that I know use Norm Nielsen's.
