My memory has gotten very bad lately. But this is driving me nuts! I am trying to remember a trick from way back I think in the late 70's or early 80's. It may have been a "Stars of Magic" effect, but I'm not sure. Also, it may have been a Frank Garcia effect, but also not sure. I'm dying to remember the name though.
The effect was this: You start with a Blue deck out of a blue card box and cut to the Aces. You explain that it was "easy" since the Aces all have red backs. (you turn over the Aces you just cut to and they indeed are all red) You then say you'll cut to the blue Aces that go with the deck. You do so. The Aces you cut to have blue backs. The Kicker ending is you spread the deck and it is all RED now. I've searched for this for quite some time and I can't find any trace of it. I think I remember how to do the whole thing but not knowing WHAT it is makes me lose sleep... I'm hoping some old-timer like me remembers what this is and who made it!

The effect you’re thinking of it Karl Fulves’ Technicolor Cards from the New Stars of Magic series. This was Tannen’s attempt to put out a follow-up to the original Stars of Magic. (This was, indeed, in the 1970s.) Frank Garcia was also a contributor to the New Stars of Magic, which may be why you associate his name with the trick.

Darwin actually answered a question I had about the Fulves Technicolor Cards manuscript. I had been interested in obtaining this New Stars of Magic manuscript for some time now but did not know exactly what the effect was. This thread solved the mystery. Now if I can only locate the manuscript...
