I would do a search on ebay. You never know what might come up.

Just a hunch, but I heard Wal-mart just bought the Disney stores in the malls and will be closing them soon, you may be able to find some usefull props/store fixtures there if you talk with the manager.

For a custom table, you might want to check out Chance Wolfs (frequents the Café) props at http://www.wolfsmagic.com. He has some excellent cartoon type tables and props.
Magic is fun!!!

Just one thing though (if you didn't realize this) is that Disney is VERY protective of thier copyrighted characters. If you perform using thier character without their permission in any sort of public venue and Disney finds out, they WILL come after you. There was a famous case a few years ago, where a day care center painted a mural using Disney characters and Disney forced the center to remove it (Warner Brothers subsequently donated an artist to paint a mural using Bugs bunny and friends)

It is unlikely they would give up fixtures anyway. I begged and pleaded with the Warner Brothers store when they were closing in the malls to buy or get free their crappy cardboard Harry Potter standees, signage, or banners that they were taking down to put in the trash (after a movie release).
A similar experience in attempts to get them from Books a Million after the book was finished in release. In all instances the managers not only would not put them in the dumpster but had the staff cut them into little pieces with box cutters "By the mandate or Warner Bros." or they would face termination from their jobs. Several years ago I had the same experience with attempts at Sonic the Hedgehog (a video game character)at a store (destroy before discard). I don't know but would guess that Disney is probably even more extreme!

Yes, Nick. Couldn't agree more!
But re: Disney. They are fanatically protective. I heard they (allegedly) even refused to give technical details, (boiler pressures etc.) of their steam locos at the Paris site to a group of rail enthusiasts! Henson the same. Back in the 70s they threatened a photographer who was commercially using a Miss Piggy costume at a large Holiday Complex in Wales. Back to these tables. They are nice. We used a Dragon for a while. But you need to make a full cover bag to put them in as they scratch very easily. The hinges are also usually very fraught with problems. They also easily lose balance. |

Glodmagic..
I used to manage 2 locations of a large video chain, and it is true that all stand up displays not only have to be thrown out, but cut up. They all came with a legal agreement saying they could sue and not send any more of their films to us if we didn't comply. It wasn'y just Disney either. Be very careful in using "known" charcters as tables or anything else in your show.

Disney will sue at the drop of a hat to protect their character designs. There was a children's day care center here in LA that had crude paintings on one exterior wall of Disney characters and they were shut down hard and fast by Walt's men.
