It was my first time at the Blackpool Magic Convention and I had a truly wonderful pleasure to meet Atlas. Firstly, Atlas is a genuinely nice guy with a passion and desire to perform meaningful and unbelievably emotional Mentalism.
I watched Atlas perform a beautiful routine for a young lady and he literally brought out tears, not only in this lady, but in me too. This was Mentalism performed at it's best with meaning. I have so much respect for Atlas for what he does in performance and for how he conducts himself around other performers. Atlas deserves so much more praise than I have given him here but I'm broken from a very long weekend. I take my hat off to you Atlas mate, you are going to be a legend in our art and I can see a very bright future for you my friend. Myke Xx |

I have corresponded with Atlas many times and he has always been a gentleman.
I was fortunate in that Atlas was kind enough to share thoughts and ideas and gave me words of encouragement when I first got into mentalism. I have bounced many idea's off Atlas and he has always been encouraging and points me in new, interesting directions even when the ideas are a bit crazy. Thanks Atlas for all your help so far, its great to see you getting some kudos for not just your contribution to the art but for being a sound lad aswell. regards, Sea

Hi All,
I'm not at all surprised to read about Atlas in such glowing terms. I've had the opportunity to work with him and learned, very quickly, he is a man of considerable talent and integrity. Regards, Steve

I was at Blackpool and finally got to meet Atlas after corresponding in here and emails.
I was fortunate to watch the performance that Myke Phillips has related to. A truly mesmerising performance that touched the hearts of everyone watching. It was quite something to see a bunch of blokes all holding back their tears at the end of the performance. Diane (the young lady Atlas performed to) was visibly moved by the experience. Atlas kindly invited her to stay for the explanation, but she declined, saying she didn't want the memory to be spoiled by knowing how it was achieved. A pleasure to watch you perform Atlas. I have returned home with lots of purchases, but best of all a new friend. I look forward to inviting you and your family to my humble abode. Regards, Ian. |

I too met Atlas at Blackpool. He was a true gent and kindly shared something with me that I'm currently working through. Also I was fortunate to have lunch with Atlas and get to know him a bit. I know one thing for sure. After this encounter we will both be unable to look Michael Murray in the eye again.

I am just sorry I wasn't there for longer as I didn't get the quality time to spend with people that I would have liked ...
I hope you're all wonderful. Col.

I can only echo the above, a genuinely nice guy with an unbelievable talent. I'm not ashamed to say that I was physically moved by his performance. It was simply outstanding. Very much a highlight of the weekend and I was proud to have the privilege of watching it.
He is also one of the funniest guys I've ever met and I laughed myself to sleep twice in a row due to him alone. Officially I've shed more tears over this guy than anyone else, all in the nicest of ways. I was also humbled at just how nice everyone else was too that includes both Myke and Rasp too! PS Bond anything Atlas said about me was all lies ha ha

Well, imagine my surprise at popping in here and seeing this thread!
Myke - Thank you for such a flattering post. I don't know that I deserve all the kind things you've said. YOU are the star my friend, and it was a thrill to meet you. As I said to you the other day, you ooze panache... and I'm frankly envious! Stephen - Our conversations have been brief, but enjoyable and you are right, we need to meet up. Thankfully, I think I'll be at TM, so we should have the chance! Art - I look forward to getting together. That one thing from RFTS is so good (it all is, but you know the one I'm talking about) and I'd love to have a chance to pick your brain. Seamus - The flip side of the coin is that you've given me very helpful and valuable feedback pretty much from the start, and I appreciate all the time you've taken to help me. Steve - The feeling is mutual, and I can't express how much I value the time you took to work out the odds for me. I use that in pretty much every piece I do where numbers are involved in any way, and it is always something that the audience talks about. You're an absolute genius! Ian - It was a very nice moment, and I'm glad that I had so many friends around to share it with. I will definitely look you up when I am down south again. Chris - It was great to get to know you as well. We need to meet up again. And you are right, Michael is a character. Colin - It would have been nice to meet you in person and spend some time getting to know you. It is a shame that we missed each other, but I've enjoyed watching you move from strength to strength and hope it continues unabated. Michael - You are the best. No question about it. You looked as happy as a pig in the slop when you were running through your material, and I was as captivated by it as anyone. I don't know where you get your ideas from, but they are absolutely fantastic. You are a natural at everything and do it with such ease that everyone else can't help but look on with envy. "Do you want this one, or would you prefer to remain friends?" Classic. Thanks guys, this thread was truly humbling. Best, Atlas PS Bond, everything I told you came straight from Michael. How he had the nerve to say that to a paramedic, I'll never know. |

Too funny Atlas.. Wink x
For me, it was the best Blackpool for years. Met some truly outstanding people and Atlas was a joy to chat to. I'm not a creator or thinker. I just enjoy performing and sharing. So to be in the presence of these guys left me quite in awe and giddy. Thanks to one and all. Chris |

Atlas and I have bounced a few things back and forth over the phone, and he has been there through some really tough times with my health. he has never once asked for anything other then friendship from me. the man is a class act. a true gent. and a pleasure of a human being. his family are just as top notch. if you have never had the chance to interact with atlas then you have truly missed a great experience. I can honestly say that I count him as one of my trusted friends.
and atlas give you family love for me brother. |

I am currently in Mexico City and it is beautiful, the women are toit like toigers and the sunshine is glorious and there is tequila and yet I'd rather have been in dreary Blackpool to spend time in the company of my friend Atlas and to share a few more beers with Pete. In fact Pete, Atlas and beer, it doesn't get any better than that. Atlas is a true gentleman in just about every sense of the word and someone I have the enormous honour of calling my friend.

I agree with Bond, this was my finest Blackpool weekend to date. Despite it being a non stop weekend of work, it never felt tiresome thanks to the crowd I shared it with. I took from it so many amazing experiences and met some great people who I'm proud to call friends!
Huge love and respect to all involved!

Mark, you were really missed! Being able to chat with you was the one thing missing from my weekend. I hope you return from Mexico soon and promptly curse the weather on your rain-soaked little island.
Chris, in my opinion, being able to perform is splendid and I am never so happy as when I am on the stage - please don't undervalue what you get to do. Ian, thanks a ton. I've had to relate the "Jelly Thumb" twice now. So...yeah, thanks for that. Michael - "twenty-one, definitely twenty-one!" And the other Michael, my one regret is that I never got to clasp your hand in mine before I left. I'm glad that I can still say "One day" and live in hope. Best, Atlas |
