I just saw this for preorder at MJM Magic. Anyone know when it will be released?

Price: $49.75
Trailer: Infallible (DVD and Gimmick) by Mark Els......ic - DVD

Mark Elsdon has created one of the finest card and number prediction effects we have ever seen! Not only is Infallible a real world worker and self-working, it's also instantly repeatable!

Mark has added the idea of a fantastic video revelation that you text to you spectator and its left on their phone as a memento of the incredible feat!

For those of you who prefer the more traditional style of prediction, you can have a prediction in an envelope, written on the back of your business card or even sent to them in advance!

Infallible is a sure fire winner and an effect you can and will perform in every situation. Totally self-working and incredibly practical.

Comes with Special Infallible Deck & A full instructional DVD.

Just a thought, you could airdrop it to their phone to avoid any charges.

Maybe because the audio was not so clear but I do not undertand what the revelation was and why the deck of cards have numbers on the backs of them and how they are used in determining the prediction. I do not know what the effect was by watching the demo. Clarification would be appreciated.

Seems very similar to DETOUR DE FORCE by John Bannon.
I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death my right to say "scr*w you" if you persist. [Voltaire Smile]

Looks poor. Why not just record your own video and force a couple of cards convincingly?? doesn't look anything special here.

There is no "convincing force" that has the same degree of freedom.

And yes, this isn't exactly the same effect as Detour de Force, but if you know that trick you could perform this one very easily.

Does the video prediction method have applications beyond just this routine?

The trailer was quite boring and a little long...

Fast forward to the kicker - its interesting - but the more I think about it - I think I may just like Cataclysm better.

Forgot the exact name of that routine where a spectator deals the cards, puts two cards in the deck and two cards are forced. It's an oldie, easy, and I strongly believe this has the same effect on laymen.
Record your own video with the handling and prediction, put it online ét voila! Normal deck of cards so you can perform other routines with it.

I don't want to be disrecpectful but the writing on the cards don't make the effect stronger i.m.o.
We also have Cataclysm, Trilogy and Cameron Francis has some effects with numbers which are very strong.

The teaser video makes the effect feel long - drawn out and I have to agree with others - just too much gimmickery with the phone stuff perhaps?

I like Elsdon - but this leaves me cold.

I use Cataclysm all the time and it is one of my faves.

I think some people are missing the point on this one. Mr. Elsdon released Devestation after Cataclysm was released. It was a streamlined version of Cataclysm where the photo could be placed in full view before the spectators choose their cards, in this case by the numbers on the back. Brian Caswell created Cataclysm as an even stronger version of Trilogy, also his effect. The introduction of the photograph took the effect to a new level. Each effect was a progression of the previous, with Mr. Elsdon's contribution of Devestation being a little more streamlined take on Cataclysm. With this new effect, Infallible, I think he's taking it to the next progression, in this case a video prediction sent to THEIR phone BEFORE you ever take out the deck of cards! That sounds pretty powerful to me!

I'm a huge fan of Cataclysm, it has been used in every close-up gig I've head for the past several years. To me, the power of it lies in the photograph, a concrete item that was made BEFORE you ever performed for your group of spectators, that contains the outcome of random choices they just made! I remember Jay Sankey talking about the power of a photograph on his Nailed DVD years ago and it has always stuck with me. I perform several photograph related effects, including Shawn Farquhar's Torn 2 Pieces as the finale to my stage/stand-up show. Believe me when I say that Sankey's words ring true.

That's what intrigues me about Infallible. You give the spectators a video (actually two video sent to two different spectators) you recorded previously, sent to their phone, BEFORE you ever begin the effect and it shows the outcome of the random selections they then proceed to make with you! On top of that, you now have their contact info, a cell phone number, AND, if you are smart about it and have the video end like a promo video with a screenshot of YOUR contact info, website/phone/email, then they have your info. Not only that, but it's in a format they will keep AND show other people as they tell them the story about how you sent them a prediction video before they ever made their choices. Now they have become what I call a "fan disciple" spreading the word of your fantastic performance to their friends, co-workers and family!

I agree that this is probably the weakest demo video I have ever seen by Mr. Elsdon and I don't think it does him any favors in selling the effect. However, being a person who bought Trilogy, then Trilogy Streamlined, as well as Cataclysm and Devestation, I believe this effect is as straight forward as,if not more so, then Cataclysm. If you have Trilogy Streamlined, think about the gimmick and mechanics that made that different from the original version of Trilogy and if I'm correct, this one plays in a very similar manner. I think the promo video kind of convoluted the way this effect plays and I'm pretty sure it is very direct. Maybe Mr. Elsdon or Mr. Nardi can hop on here and confirm what I'm saying and/or clarify the way this one plays out.

I don't purchase much new magic nowadays, I've got my working repertoire and have spent years polishing the presentations. Also, I have twin 6 year old boys so there is no such thing as "spare money" for me anymore! I just might have to pick this one up, mainly because I like the idea of leaving them with a video on their phone with my contact info that they will show other people. That's why I also do a lot of business card effects, to get them my info in a memorable way. I think this one might fall into that category. I would DEFINITELY like to hear from someone who has purchased this and has been performing it.

Just stumbled across this effect called Infallible. I'm not sure where "copying" begins and ends? This method looks identical to a trick I bough in 1983 while on holiday in Las Vegas. The trick was called "Match Made in Vegas". It contained a deck of mixed cards from various casino decks. A spectator goes through the cards viewing the backs and takes a card from the casino of choice e.g. MGM. You then turn over the pack face up and spread through the cards so they can choose a card, and remove it.
Upon the table you have the casino card back and the card face chosen (both free choices). Your prediction envelope has been on show all the time, when the card is removed, the face matches their card face, when you turn over to show the back of prediction card to match the chosen casino.

The same method is used here in Infallible. So has it just been altered with a different presentation theme of numbers on the backs, or did Mark Elsdon really invent the trick and it just happens to work the same as another trick invented years before? Just an observation!
