Hey Walt! When you say jumbo sized cards for your BWave, are you talking Giant sized, which, I believe they used to come in? Or is your set a jumbo size, like the size of the cards in a jumbo deck? Also, where can I do some research about this non gimmick presentation? I read a few threads earlier but some magicians were suggesting Burgers B wave is gimmicked. Can you clarify?

My most magical 4?

Walt - thanks for the additional detail. I did know you were known for your style of magic and storytelling, but did not initially link the two. It sounds very intriguing.

Hi Frankie,
I use regulation Jumbo cards, even though big, some lay people recognize them as cards.

If huge ones were used they are so obviously props they'd be too suspect and dilute the magic. Even with the jumbo I point to them and use the line "the older the eyes... the larger the cards" it's a throw away and gets a little chuckle and explains the larger deck. Please guys don't use my line...

The Burger variation was taught in his workshops and I think he kept it that way to keep it sort of private. There is a cute story on how he came up with it.
Magically, Walt

Thanks, Walt. I love using the 3 Card Joe sized cards. They're 8 x 12, I think. The jumbo B wave that Yedid sells seems so small, but now that I think about it, they may be "regulation" jumbo size.

So how would one get the Burger version? Contact him?

Hey! I was just teasing!

I'm happy that you are happy with the PBs. That bit has been "in" since 1950. Percy Abbott personally sold me the "work" for $1.00--and that was one of the best dollars I ever spent with a dealer! Well, THAT, and the dollar I spent with Wilfred Syllten for the ball thru silk in 1953. Billy McComb loved that bit, too. (We both owe Bill Williston for that one!)

Gene Gordon sold me the Prof. Nitemare for one dollar in 1959. It didn't go into the act 'til 1971 (I was not happy with the "standard" set up moves) but when Denny Loomis, Karrell Fox, and I, worked that out, it has become a feature.

You have me so enthused that I may forget about retirement and go back on the road again! Excuse me--I must go and get the prop case from the closet and press the silks!

See you down the road!

Half dyed hank, fiber optics, (news)paper tears (I use Foster Center Tear, Newsflash, Anderson, depending on the setting) or Mark Wilson sucker torn/restored napkin, silk to egg, and 21st century silks. Years ago I worked In a Ford dealership in sales and every time someone walked into the showroom, the other salesmen wanted me to show them the Wilson torn napkin trick. Amazing responses to that effect. Loads of fun to perform. Now my go-to effect, for me anyway, is the half dyed hank. Audiences eat it up.

Guess I will chime in here...
1. Undivided- Cigarette paper tear.
2. Precious Metal- Spoon to fork.
3. Awakening- Dan Harlan's gimmicked version of Professors Nightmare.
4. Tensegrity demonstration- Effect from Paul Harris dvd set. Great visual effect.
5. Mother of All Diamonds- Just had to throw this one in here, it ends up in most of my shows (love doing this).

Pop,

I do love your Mongolian Pop Knot and purchased the manuscript from you a few months ago. I plan on working on the routine this summer. You've inspired many through your showmanship--I'm one of those. I suspect MPK will move into one of the top four.

Regards,

Floating Table - everyone talks about this after the show
Chair suspension - this is the closest thing I have to an "illusion"
Head chopper with head drop - I combined Syril's head drop with a chopper - makes a great ending.
Kalver's growing head spiral - although it's not a magic trick per se, audiences love it.

Egg bag, linking rings and ropes,a silk routine ending with fountain of silks and a huge flower production.
There's probably four effects in there somewhere.
