Hello,
I have been performing my theater show for several years and have used a variety of services for online ticket sales (Brown Paper Tickets, Eventbrite, Wordpress, etc). If you sell tickets online, I would like to know what you like or don't like about the service you are currently using. Thanks, William Rader |

William,
All I can say is I used eventbrite once to buy a ticket and it seemed to work well. I would be very interested in hearing about your experience with the services you have already used. -What are the fees with each service? -Why did you switch away from one? -Which do you like best so far and why? |

Also I would like to learn:
Is it possible to set up promo codes with any of these sites? |

Tim,
I've used Eventbrite in the past and it is possible to use promo codes with that site. |

Hello,
Thanks for getting back with me. I recently stopped using the services listed above and developed my own ticketing software to meet my event requirements. I switched because those providers took users off my website, the ticketing provider advertised their services on my ticketing page, people could search for other shows before they purchased my tickets, it was hard to give people a direct link to purchase tickets, and it wasn't a seamless transition to their sites. Do any of these problems concern you when you sell tickets online? I am in the process of further developing my software and would like your opinions on online ticketing. First, would you prefer selling tickets from your own website? If so, what would be the most important features you would need in a ticketing provider? Thanks for your time, William |

Yes, I would like people to buy tickets from my site.
I just want it to be quick and easy. Less steps means less bounces, right? And no fees makes everything better for me and the person buying the ticket. Here's an idea, why not just use a merchant service on your site and sell "tickets" like you would any other product people sell on a website. When I bought a ticket on eventbrite I never printed out a physical ticket and they never asked to see the ticket in the app. I just said my name and they let me and my guest in. So is it even needed to use a ticket service when buyers and sellers have an email receipt that can serve as a ticket. manofcards, I'd like to hear more about your program, it sounds good. |

I've never personally used it, but a few prominent names do might be worth looking into:

Chris from magicgeek talks about producing your own show on his last blog: http://www.magicgeek.com/blog/2014/04/04......y-recap/
He mentions a service called ticketleap.com I had not heard of that one... |
