I do a number of 'dark storied' effects at small parties. I have three favourites that work particularly well with candlelight and soft music. My number one bizarre favourite of all time is Outlaws Luna 1935. It has never failed. To draw gasps and powerful reactions from the audience. It's also the closest thing to real mentalism you'll ever perform. I also love the Carnie deck with a pendulum and White Star.
They're right. It's all about story and atmosphere, enlisting their imaginations into your presentation. David

I agree 1935 absolutely kills, also On The Blood Reloaded plays very well and the props are some of the very best
I own. Missing in action is also fast becoming a very close second to these.
