Bob Seger's 'Live Bullet' voted No. 1 'Best Live Album of the '70s' by Rolling Stone readers.
Smart people those Rolling Stone readers. Having been at one of the Seger concerts the album was recorded from, I would concur. The Seventies was the era of the live album. Many great choices. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/pictur......20140402 http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20140......-readers

Good list with most of the obvious choices (though I think "Live at Leeds" is underrated). Glaring omission, though - UFO's "Strangers in the Night."

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley. "...as we reason and love, we are able to hope. And hope enables us to resist those things that would enslave us." |

I had no idea that many geezers still read RS.

The biggest Seger fan I know is 20 years old.

Yeah I could see that. I'm surprised Kiss Alive wasn't in the top 4 but I do have to say all those albums from Wings over america to the Allman brothers live at filmore east all deserved to be on the list

I can't say I was into too many of those ten bands, but the Frampton thing was a monster as I recall it.
And no Grateful Dead on the list?

I bought 6 of the 10 when they came out. Framton Comes Alive was another favorite and do was his concert at that time.

Surprisingly, I never bought any of those albums.
For many years, Frampton Comes Alive (released in 1976) was the biggest selling live double-album of all time. A&M Records made so much money from this that they added an entire lot to their property at North La Brea Avenue in L.A. Apparently today, the best selling live album in history is Garth Brooks' two-CD "Double Live" |

Are these albums you would have included in the Top 10?

The best album was Grease as we made a killing selling them Grease albums of the 70s to the record shops who couldn't get enough of them here and we had contact who could.
Sorry "live" I didn't notice that.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

No Thin lizzy "Live and dangerous".
A poor omission.

Glad to see Deep Purple's MADE IN JAPAN made the list (my personal fave). The band is absolutely on fire.

I have 7 of the 10. I also love "Foghat Live" & Ted Nugent's, "Double Live Gonzo" from that era.
