While preforming my favorite acaan, I hate when a number greater than the positions of the card is called. This forces me to go into a harder task, and sometimes is very difficult while interacting with the audience. any ideas?

The hardest math you have to do is adding 26. You could practice that enough in short order.
You know the way they teach kids the 9 times table? Write out the numbers from 1-52 in one direction, and then the opposite direction so that 52 is paired with 1 and use that same method to remember the first (or last) 26 of those pairs. This is also useful for using your memdeck after it has been cut. Once you know your deck inside/out, there is no reason to always start at the first card. |

Suprej68 I know exactly what you mean. Here's a trick that works well for me in many of those situations. Get the card named first. If it's a relatively low numbered card (15 or lower or thereabouts) then immediately add 52 to that number in your head. Then after the number is named you only need to do the one operation instead of two.
Example, if they name the 5th card of your stack then you immediately translate that to 57. Proceed as usual.

Under fire, this may well be easier:
To add 26: add 30, then subtract 4. T0 subtract 26: subtract 30 then add 4.
