Hi All
This does not feel right posting a question about Doug Henning in "Magicians of Old"....it was not that long ago. Anyway...is there anyone around who might be clued up as to what tricks Doug did on each TV special? Am looking to identify a particular trick and when it was aired and so on. thanks! Scott |

Hello Scott,
You can make it yourself easy. Some years ago John Harrison published his book: SPELLBOUND the wonder-filled life of DOUG HENNING In this book Harrison gives a description of all the tv-shows of Henning, with many details and ins and outs. Perhaps you will find the book on Amazon. |

I have read Spellbound and very much enjoyed it. Doug Henning was a favorite of mine growing up. I wish I could get my hands on those old television shows again... perhaps someone will someday persuade whoever it is that could make it happen, to release those old specials in dvd format. What a treasure that would be. Doug Henning was a great magician.

I'm with you, one hundred percent on that. I seem to remember that the specials were on NBC, I could be wrong though, ( it happened once before.} It is either his wife or the network that has the control over that. I believe her name was Debbie. Maybe someone has more on this.

I watched Doug Henning attempt to levitate on the floor of Dennis Loomis's living room in Ann Arbor. What a nice guy! This was before he got famous but I'm pretty sure from what I've heard that fame did not corrupt his heart one iota.
