I was thinking of the time Charlie Miller accompanied Dai Vernon into a gamblers den, both of them posing as cheats. When Miller got called upon to show his skill at the card table, he allegedly shouted, "I'm a dice man!"

That is the reference I was making, Bob. Vernon told him to stay out of the conversation, and if anyone asked him anything, just say you're "more a dice man." Charlie evidently yelled it out inappropriately, and in an awkward way.
