I have seen a lot of posts about needing to get a potentiall clients card while handing out your business card. I am looking for different information on getting cards and trying to come up with my own.
I have a few questions. 1. What all do you ask for on your card? 2. Where did you get them printed? 3. Do you use these at birthday parties or children show? If you do, do you let the kids fill them out? 4. Do you tell the person filling out the card that you plan on contacting them in the future about shows? I am sure I will come up with more questions as I start using these cards but this is enough for now. Thanks for you help. Tim |

Tim:
I use information cards mainly as a raffle at my bigger events and fairs and festival work. It really works for itself. This is how I go about it: - Create a raffle and a nice box to put the forms in - Create a sign that says something like, "Raffle!! FREE chance to win a deluxe magic kit compliments of The Magical Illusions of Kyle and Kelly! Fill out the form below and be present for the drawing held at the entertainment stage following the 2pm performance!" - Have forms written up that have on them information that can benefit you. But, keep it simple. The more they have to fill out, the less chance they will want to. I use: 1) child's name 2) child's age 2) address 3) home number 4) adult's e-mail 5) child's birthdate - have these and pens available near the raffle box - display the magic set so people can see what it is they are winning That really is all there is to it. But it does wonders for me. Here is why: - I get people to come to my show because they have to be there to win - I get a ton of forms that can be entered into my ACT database when I get home. I have all the information I need to contact them for their kid's birthday, send an e-mail thanking them for being at the show etc. - I get a great photo opportunity after the show when I present the kit to the child - It is a great lead in to my BOR sales following the performance Give it a try. It has really worked well for me and I will continue to work on it this fair season. Hope this gives you some ideas and tips to try. Kyle

Thanks Kyle for your input.
Do you have your request for information on card stock or do you use plain paper? I am thinking about having them printed on card stock but if plain paper works I may go that route. Thanks again, Tim |

I try and do it on a card stock as it looks more professional and they do not get as damaged between the gig and entering them into the database. Most welcome.
