I was going to post this in the "Bizarre" section but decided it was too far off topic. "Bizarre" is as good an adjective as any to describe this contestant on YOU BET YOUR LIFE.
This clip never fails to make me laugh. Listen carefully around the 2:37 mark as Groucho asks, ""What sort of work have you been doing lately? Homicide?" |

I can see a lot of Pop Haydn in Mr Albert Hall there. I always wondered where he garnered the character from.

When I saw the title of the thread, I was expecting Lord Buckley:

Wouldn't it be fun to see this guy as a witness in a senate hearing?
Also known, when doing rope magic, as "Cordini"

I'm sure mastermindreader can tell you more about Lord Buckley. He's no longer well known to the modern public, but he was one of the people that comedians talk about, along with Lenny Bruce and Mort Sahl, when they talk about the underground comedy scene of the late 50s and early 60s.

I never heard of this guy before I started reading Spider Robinson's "Callahan's" series. His lead character, Jake Stonebender quotes Lord Buckley frequently. He's also a big fan of John McDonald's "Travis McGee" and on that recommendation, I checked out a Travis McGee omnibus. I don't like Travis McGee!

Tom, that is one of the funniest videos that I have ever seen.
I watched it three times...thanks for sharing this guy. Cheers! I don't even know who Lord Buckley is, I feel out of touch for the second time today...I'm on some strange roll. |

After Mr. Hall announces he worked as a printer's devil, he then says something else but it's drowned out by the audience reaction.
I'm not an experienced lip reader but I think he says something along the lines of, "It just suited me." |
