[If you think there is a better place to this topic in the Café feel free to move it, thanks]
Here is a table that I bought few weeks ago and I think it's a pretty cool table for a travelling performer. There was one topic about this table here in the Café but I think it was deleted for some reason so here's my opinion about the table: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-DJ-HERO-1-2 ... 0626390298 Pros: +The table legs fits inside the case and it all packs nice and tight +With the legs inside you will still have place to store your props. I is also great place to safely store your important stuff or money during your (street) shows +Legs height can be adjusted and they have pre-made marks for easy setup (about 50cm-120cm) +Table is sturdy enough to hold my case, I guess it would hold up to 10kg easily +Table looks quite professional +price (10usd from ebay, I paid 25e) Cons: -The case with legs inside weights about 5kg and with not so great carrying handle it is not the easiest thing to carry around -I'm still working on how to attach a servante to the table, maybe some kind of straps will do the job -Case has a black DJ-hero logo on it which you can see in the right angle. I think I will glue one close-up pad over it Overall it is a really nice case for a travelling magician. With my limited experience I would highly recommend it, price is almost free and it packs quite nicely. If you have any questions I will do my best to answer. ~Atte

I've been using this table in my stand-up shows for the last couple years and it's been great. I usually place my closeup pad on top before each show. I highly recomend it!

Hey "Suomi friend"!
I had time this AM to backtrack thru some threads of the past month. That looks like a very practical prop case/table. For about 40 years I've carried my 45 minute school assembly show in a 13" x 20" x 8" fibre case (like a "fat" attache case). With all the props, it weighs just over 20 lbs. I have used a musician's cymbal stand (tripod)as a base, but now prefer a waiter's "cross legs" tray stand (more stable). It carries separately, but has wheels, so I can "drag" it! Largest props are 3 8" linking rings, and a coin pail, 5" diameter x 7 1/2" tall. It carries enough "spare" props to fill out a 60 minute family evening show. With these props, I have worked audiences of up to 2,000. If you are as wise, as you appear to be (!!!) You will never carry anything bigger! (The performer is more important than the prop(s)!!! Kiitos! Your Norwegian friend!

It's "me" again!
I forgot to mention that I don't need a servante. --Mainly because none of the tricks I use in my stand up act, need a table top (or "working surface") so the suitcase lid is always open. Thus, the entire case is a "servante"! Every prop has its own "pigeon hole" (cardboard "compartment"). The prop is picked up, used, and returned to its own space. Only a few props need any sort of reset. Reset time for the 45 minute school program, or the 60 minute family evening program, is 4 minutes. Many props are "generic", and some are used in several different routines. --silks, rope, cards, etc. In my early teen years, I had as many as three tables on stage. (That's how most magicians 'did it" in those days. --The Victorian era!)I soon learned to work out of ONE prop case which sat on a waiter's cross legs tray stand. For a season or two, I used a Merv Taylor "Suitcase Table" (like the well known Lefler table). The case looked nice, but was heavier than the props! I gave it to a young magician who thought it was wonderful. Unless you plan to do an illusion show, you would be wise to limit your working act to props that fit in your case! Best wishes from the Finland of North America! Dick 1

Hi,
I've been pretty busy but now I finally have time and motivation to open the Café... But I actually can (and do) carry my set (enough stuff for any type of show between 1 and 35 minutes for any audience between 1 and 400 people) in one aluminic case. With that I usually take the DJ-hero -case, because even though I could pack almost the same to the DJ-case, it's not that handy during shows. So when I go to a gig I have one 45cm x 32cm x 15cm briefcase where all my magic is and one DJ-hero table briefcase with a bottle of water, some clothes and other personal stuff like an Ipad in it with me. Everything is pretty much weatherproof (something that I realised few weeks ago when I was walking to a gig in horrible rain) and semi-easy to be carried. I also do keep the aluminic case opened on top of the table during shows and it's working fine. The only thing why I would like to have a servante is cups and balls with which I have a routine underway. Maybe some day I will order/make one... ~Atte

I really like the idea of a case that has built in legs. However, in looking at this, it looks like the case is just to hold the legs, right?
Me thinks it would be nice to have a case that holds all my props, and has legs built in, AND is on wheels. Maybe there is an idea here for someone to start a potentially lucrative business. Also, may be a bit too late for me, as I'm building a custom case/stand/table for my show. It is going to be a bit heavier than I would like because it has some custom features that just aren't available in a standard case for sale. However, it breaks down into segments that make it lighter in pieces, easy to put together, and the whole thing is on wheels so it can be easily moved around. One of the features of it is I place a tiny briefcase over it and remove some custom juggling "cigar boxes" that clearly wouldn't fit in the tiny briefcase. KJ |

Hi,
My apologies for not answering, I have been way too busy with my studies to concentrate on magic (cafe). I tried to took a better picture: http://tinypic.com/r/30cu9o1/8 Over the legs is a flat panel with some shaped foam on it. The table is designed so that you can carry a dj-hero controller in the suitcase with the legs. If you rip off some extra foam you have about 50cm*25cm*7cm space to store whatever you want. For me that would be just enough in most of the situations, but because I need to access my "secret" and not-so-secret props during the show I've just found easier to carry another suitcase with me. Hope that helps ~Atte

I've been using two of these for about a year now and I'm very pleased with them.
They are very stable, and yes, you have plenty of room for props with the legs stowed. The legs sit in a compartment in the bottom and you have room on top of them. My one real complaint is that the latches are very flimsy and need to be replaced if you're going to do any traveling with them... Definitely a bargain.
