The tenth combined convention is under way. It has been very hectic and I'm having enough trouble with the internet that makes me even more sleep deprived as I try to post these daily reports.

But here is the report from Monday June 30th which is officially the first day of the convention, but since not much happened (except for youth activities, a welcome party and a lecture by Henry Evans), I call it Day Zero. Wow, I've got to keep this more up to date. There is so much going on and my time is taken up with producing the podcasts that I find it hard to post social updates to promote the daily updates from the convention. So I will post two quick posts here to bring you up to date.

Happy Independence Day (to our U.S. listeners). Today we kick off with Eric Jones talking about his upcoming trips to Australia and China to perform magic. Then one of the competitors in the FISM North American Championships, Christian Painter, talks about preparing for this competition. At the cocktail reception before the banquet, Past National Presidents, Mark Weidhaas and Vinny Grosso, talk about the convention registration and the contests, because they were the chairmen responsible for the S.A.M., respectively.

Christopher Hannibal next talks about his inspiration for his close-up act which he presented in the competition. Inside the banquet, Joe Curcillo is excited about receiving the Milbourne Christopher Award for Mentalism. Then after the banquet, Bill Gleason, a 911 early responder, tells us about the relatively new award given to select people by the S.A.M. for heroism and patriotism.
