Hi guys, so I have been given a small red ball. It doesn't bounce but it can be palmed. I am looking for any routines/resources relating to sleights ect that only use one small ball.
And please, not the cups and balls or chop cup, I searched for tricks with a ball and there are literally thousands of posts on the forums about cups and balls and chop cup. There must be some good tricks out there with just one ball. :D |

With just one ball, you're limited to the equivalent to a one coin routine. You could potentially use a large ball for a final change.
I recently did a spellbound routine with a coin and cherry tomato recently, so that worked too! Other objects to combine it with: A silk hanky or equivalent to fit your style, for penetrations and vanishes A different coloured ball or a coin as mentioned above for a spellbound I'd just create your own stuff from the literature on coin magic. So was this ball given to you for you to perform with? There's some good routines with more than one ball if you weren't restricted... |

There are several such effects inb y E0book "Sleight and the Family Stone." They can be performed with any small object - stone, nut, ball, etc.
I have given this away to others at no charge -- the price being a commitment to feedback/ Write to me at gusarimagic@comcast.net ..... a hint to help your research. What you need are effects in which the audience only knows of one ball. The existence of several balls (and the related sleights) that only appear as one can open new horizons for you.

Jay Leslie has a DVD out on Ball Manipulation. It has a some work using just one ball. It might be something to look at. It is a fun concept. Imagine just picking up a superball out of a prize (gumball) machine and doing several minutes of pure, fun, and entertaining magic.
Most of the one-ball routines are really two-ball routines. One is unknown to the audience. Good luck on your quest. I wish I had more to offer.

Hello Milton
It's so much fun when you let your imagination run wild! Here's an idea or two: appearing/vanishing ball, passe-passe ball, color-changing ball, ball to confetti, penetrating ball, gravity defying ball, psychic ball (moving on its own), bounce> no-bounce ball, ball transformation (into silk, coin or?), Steve Brooks & Steve Landavazo's "We're Having A Ball!" (card revelation) and probably a bunch of others. What effects can you add to the mix? (It's also FUN to do some research as to HOW to make these effects take place.) Julie |

Some great suggestions here. I love these ideas using more than one object. Up 'til now, this was the only one ball routine I knew ->

Sankey has an effect called Bouncing Baby. He bounces a white ball of the floor a few times, then he cracks it open against a glass, it is now an egg and the contents come out.

Does it have to be "just that 1 ball?" if not take the suggestion by Yellowcustard and produce the ball and a few other "odd" objects with say "a coin" being last and go into a coin routine. They wont only wonder how you did that with no purse on the frame, but now...How did you fit so many things. The coin at the end is what you were digging for so now you have a pile of "props" and you draw their attention away with the coin routine.
