I looked up this Queen Victoria 1888 Half Crown coin in the web and saw they they're only 32 mm in diameter, just a tad more than Kennedy Halves. I myself have a 1921 George V Silver half crown, of similar size. I guess Kainoa's hands are not that large. When I first saw the trailer I thought he was using a dollar size coin, if not something at least 36-37 mm-ish (Ike/Morgans are 38.1). I think I'll practice this routine with a dollar since my hands are pretty large. Thanks for the info again !!

Just for the record the 1921 George V half crown is only 5O% silver. The UK stopped minting 90+% silver half crowns after 1919.

I have to be honest, I don't really like this routine, at least not how it looks in the trailer. I have never liked the Turning Both Hands Partially Palm Up So They Look Empty thing, if that is in fact what he is doing. To me it never looks right, and I doubt a spectator will fall for it. Also, his hands look cramped as hell all thru the thing.
Sorry, I don't usually say negative things, but I just didn't like this. |
