Has anyone tried it?
This is how it's described: "The "Invisible Deck" is a classic in magic, and magicians and mentalists know how well it plays - there's no escaping that. But there are laypeople who know all about the trick. You can't be a "mentalist" and be caught doing the "trick Uncle Charlie has" too. Allen Zingg put his ingenious thinking to this problem and the solution is fantastic. In Allen's Deca Deck version, there is no sleight of hand. Still, the trick can be performed surrounded. The cards are seen to have all backs and all faces. Yep, that's right. It looks like a REAL deck. You can have people standing on all sides of you, and you will still amaze everyone. No funny moves. No re-spreading. Automatically resets. Also includes Zingg's great additional routining and new effects such as "Wonder Words Premonition", "The Millionaire Thought Reader", "Telekinetic Reverse", "Teleportation" and MORE. Each deck is incredibly gimmicked - You won't believe it when you see all the work that has gone into this. Better still, the reaction you will get performing with this deck. Deca Deck is a special combination of tried and true principles in a way that produces a fresh result." Mikael |

When I saw this ad it made me wonder. I saw Alan performing just a few months ago at a function and he performed using the standard Invisible deck.
About 20 so years ago, Paul Curry had his version marketed where you show the cards front and back. You then spread the cards and ask the spectator to think of one of the cards facing him. You close up the deck and one card reverses, the one they name. Does anyone else remember this deck and what it was called? |

Hi Mikael
I have it and it plays exactly as it reads. I believe there was a thread on this some time ago. Try the search feature. Alton |

Hi Mikael
Hi bought it and into the reject drawer it goes! What a piece of junk! He's got some complicated system in order to determine the mated card. WHY??? It would have been SO simple to arrange them in some sort of "add to 13" order, but no. He's got some twisted rhyming mess you have to try and memorize. Look, performing is tough enough. He could have made it easy. He didn't. Stick with the Invisible Deck or Brainwave. |

This is the beauty of this forum. It goes to show you that not everything is for everybody. At the end of the day, you have to go with what works for you.

Palmbeachguy,
Couldn't you just separate and rearrange the card faces and order any way you want - or is it too "set" in the given order. LAS

Unfortunatly magic is different for everyone
there are people like me are enjoy to do the tricks which are in the impossible range I mean tricks using {second and bottom deals } cutis kam kind of coin tricks ect ect . and then again there are other magians who rely on tricks which require minimum or no sleight of hand at all { I mean buy the light ad heavy chest and build a 15 minute routine around it . and like in the add the chest does everything around you now here is the problem if I ever get to perform the light and heavy chest I wont perform it to maximum cos I will feel that I'm dng nothin at all while if you give a really complicated trick to a box worker he will just shove it away for the simple reason that too much work and practise has to be put on it

Adolphus, good idea! I'll see if I can rearrange the cards. Thanks for the suggestion.
Hi Sniper, Thanks for the insights. However, I do my fair share of practicing! But I can see where you might have inferred I didn't want to do my due diligence from my message. I certainly do the work when necessary. THIS was not necessary as the inventor just could have put the cards in a better layout. Adolphus, no luck. The cards in the Deca Deck cannot be rearranged. Too bad. But thanks for the suggestion anyway! Paul, I'm not sure how your remark was intended. I would assume that anyone creating a magical effect for sale would have intentions for it to be used by magicians. So I'll assume it was said in a humorous manner. Regarding the inquiries here about the Deca Deck, a fair warning: Yes, you can show both sides of the deck. The trade off is that the Deca Deck does not allow a for a completely free choice of all 52 cards as does the Invisible Deck. |
