Well, one of the reasons why I responded the way I did, was because when I was listening to an 80s music sattellite radio channel in the rental car I was renting on my way to a gig, they were talking about Boy George and when his music first came to America. They didn't want to show his face or what he looked like because they wanted to be sure he got a fair shake on his music.
So, he was a big hit once hit the US and then all the sudden, when people were finally able to see what he looked like and his face, some were turned off by his music even though they liked his music before they saw his face and what he looked like. So, it made me suspicious that perhaps some members of the forum disliked the music I enjoyed, simply because the artist happenned to be or look gay when they viewed the music video I initially posted. So it made me wonder if the forum was giving the artist, whose music I enjoyed, a fair shake as well. Now, you also know, I live here in the South too imgic and I am not trying to dog the South now or smear the South, but we have some people down here and I encounter them down here who are opposed to gay marriage. It's much more conservative down here than the rest of the country as you should already know given that you were stationed down here with the Air Force. So, at times, I am not sure how others outside the South view issues. People down here don't always see things the way others outside the South see things. I am not trying to offend any Southerners here on the forum, BUT I have lived years both outside the South and years inside the South, so I have a good idea of how both sides of the fence think. However, those who haven't lived years on both sides of the fence like I have don't understand the mentality of each other too well and too often assume that the other side of the fence thinks like they do, when in fact, that is not always the case. For example, Chick Fil A from what I read, was prevented from doing business in Boston because of it's stance on gay marriage. Chick Fil A is a very successful fast food business down South here and I love to eat at the place myself. But they also close all day Sunday and were and maybe still are opposed to gay marriage and Boston wouldn't permit them to do business in their city because of their stance on gay marriage. Yet, that stance hasn't harmed it's business at all down South here. So, when I am dealing with people here on the forum, it's not always easy to decipher where they come from and what mentality or culture they might have. And not all Southerners think that way or are intolerant, but there are some differences between the South and many other parts of the country. From some of your previous posts, it sounds like you are Catholic. My wife is Catholic as well but I am not a religious person myself though I attend church with her on occassion. I know some churches oppose gay marriage, so I am curious what your view is on gay marriage since you brought it up?

Here is what I was talking about in regards to Chick Fil A. They do very well for themselves down South here even though Boston's mayor blocked them from doing business in Boston up North:

The people of Boston will have to purchase their chicken sandwiches elsewhere: Mayor Thomas M. Menino has sworn that the franchise will have to fight city hall to bring its fast-food empire to Boston after Chick-fil-A’s president, Dan Cathy, said gay marriage is “inviting God’s judgment on our nation.” The Atlanta-based chain is hoping to open a restaurant in a popular tourist spot near the Freedom Trail — a rather ironic choice in Menino’s eyes. http://newsfeed.time.com/2012/07/23/bost......ttitude/

General, an update (but old). http://gawker.com/5929429/boston-mayor-w......beantown
Also, Menino is no longer the mayor of Boston.

From reading your article it sounds as if Chicago is trying to prevent a second Chick Fil A branch from opening there. And it seems that Boston will permit a Chick Fil A branch to open but they are not exactly thrilled about it.

The actor said; "Oh yeah, Ed doesn't do anything like that." The girl looked at me surprised and said; "You mean the way you are now is how you're going to be for the whole day?"
