I have a copy of Ian Rowlands "th Full Facts Book of Cold Reading" 4th edition. (It's a soft covered bound book, with a picture of an illustrated palm on the cover.)
When I looked it up on Amazon, it was priced at almost $90. The last time I tried to sell it and based it on the prices on line, I got blasted for asking too much money for it. (I thought that I was asking a fair price for it.) Can someone please give me advise as to what I should put it up for? The condition is mint. |

First of all, I don't understand why anyone would want to sell it. Nor do I understand why anyone would want to buy it for $90.00 when they can support the author and buy it new, directly from him, for about $35.00.

3rd party Amazon dealers often ask for ridiculous prices. When I read your post I simply went to the author's website and found that you can by the latest edition of the book for $35.00.
Ian Rowland is a regular poster here and his website is listed on his profile and in his signature. So the information wasn't really hard to find. |

I've been away for a few days. Thank you, Bob, for saying exactly what I would have said if I'd seen this thread earlier.

I've purchased two prior editions of The Full Facts of Cold Reading and am about to buy the most recent edition. It's THAT good.

Welcome back Ian. I have a first edition Full Facts. What is different in the later, particularly the latest, edition?

My cover has fallen off after about a decade. May I get a replacement copy? (jk)...

Bill: Each edition of the book has been a slight improvement on the one before, in terms of re-writing, proofing, quality of printing and binding and so on. However, there has not been any truly signficant change in the actual content. Around the 3rd or 4th edition I added a chapter on ACR (Applied Cold Reading), which goes into what ACR is and how it's used, but doesn't explain it in any great detail (because it would require a separate book). That addition was the last major addition in terms of content. Other than that, you'd find it all fairly familiar, but just presented a lot more neatly and professionally.

Have you considered an audio book version on CD?

Enotskcalb: I'm publishing the Kindle version later this year, but I don't anticipate doing an audio version. I don't think the demand would justify the time.

I look forward to the Kindle version of this classic. It will be good to have it with me in my "traveling library."
For those that don't have this book, get it. It will definitely be included in the next revision of my 39 Steps to Mentalism as an essential work in the field. |

I remember when bringing up Full Facts would lead to arguments and flaming! Nice that you and the book have been successfully "re-branded" Ian.
