My first reaction is to query which 3-4 of these can flow naturally one to the other in a routine? I have never seen much value in just doing a single coin effect no matter how amazing it is.
For me, any selection of "favorite" plots must include several done in a spectator's hand.

Combining plots can lead to nice routines.
7,1,6,4, 1. Coin box opens and I pour out 3 coins 2. Coins across mixed with a coin flurry 3. 3 coins change to 3 other coins either one at a time or 3 for 3 (nod to Curtis Kam) 4. Original coins dumped out of the coin box by a spectator

Ambitious coin? do tell?
As said above, there's got to be stuff going on in their hand to be in my top ten: 1. One coin routine with jumbo (contains body loading too) 2. C/S in their hands 3. Coins across to their hands 4. Expansion of texture 5. karate coin and bent coin 6. multiple productions 7. Okito box stuff ending with through their hand 8. Stealing a coin from their hand (socked coins, 7 pennies etc. Curtis Kam's routine doing this three times followed by stack of quarters through their hand has so much spectator involvement - it's awesom!) 9. Coin and silk (Ammar style - ending in their hand) 10. Charming Chinese Challenge Unless I'm performing for someone who is holding two objects in their hand, I don't know why I would waste the opportunity to perform stuff in their hand - it always gets the best reactions (except maybe the jumbo...). I can do a spellbound and 3fly that get good reactions, but they wouldn't go in my top 10. |

1. One coin routine (recently shifted from David Stone/Ponta to Portal by Kainoa Harbottle. Definitely worth a look !!)
2. Coins across with a [, the climax happening in the spectator's hand. 3. Copper/Silver Transposition (Pocket Passport by Ken Krenzel / A questionable trick by Gregory Wilson) 4. Anything that I can come up with one or more coins on-the-spot. It always helps to improvise things on the fly. Well, these are pretty much I use. I usually perform surrounded, so haven't thought of including a spellbound yet. I use stuff like Scotch & Soda and Dime & Penny in some routines as and when applicable, if this info helps.
Best,

I have literally spent years trying to perfect certain sleights in magic. The Miser's Dream is not technically difficult... It's that I get my best reactions with it and its fun, visual, audio, funny, plays big. Bigger than most coin routines. OH,did I mention that I love performing it? |

So would you still say Miser's Dream beats other routines in close up? I've always got greater reactions from the last coin going in their hand in a coins across than from a prior 4 coin production. It's got a similar impact to sponge balls/bunnies.
I've not done Miser's Dream for lots of coins though, only in close up. I can definitely see why it is the best routine for stage. |

I don't do the Miser's Dream for Close-up. More for stage, even parlour. I don't see why you couldn't. I just think it plays better on stage.
So many great routines here for close-up. They've already been named. I also still enjoy Greg wilson's Quicksilver. Eric Jone's Mirage et Trois. Coin thru pants/leg. Mr. Clean Coins across. Coin under watch. |
