Hello!
I'm thinking of implementing cups and balls into my routine where I already have Coin flux 2 by Wayne Dobson. My question is, do you think I can have them successively or do you think that will undermine both tricks because of the similarity between them? (I think of Coin flux 2 as a small Cups and balls routine using cards and coins instead) |

The idea of two effect which are transpositions like you say is something I would stay away from myself. However I do think it would be possible to start with coin flux as a introduction to the idea then using cups and balls or chop cup as a larger demonstration could have legs. Also cups and balls can be flexible and do other things.
Just poped in to my head you could start with 'I saw a man in a bar with 3 coins and two bar matts talk about moving from one place to the next' then you follow with ' I thougth about this a lot and here is how far I have got' Then you do cups and balls. Just ideas feel free to ask more.
Enjoy your magic,
and let others enjoy it as well! |

If my memory is correct, Coin Flux 2 is simply a coin assembly effect with three coins and three cards: two coins, very cleanly it must be said, join the third, once and only once. It is completely unrelated to the cups and balls.

And you don't see any relation between that trick and the cups and balls?
Wow. |

Thank you for your ideas Yellowcustard! I've been thinking a while and I think your way is the right way to go, at least I will try it out. Then the two tricks ties together in a nice manner and thereafter I, hopefully, can come up with a killer ending with the more flexible cups and balls
I also have to agree with tomsk192, that I actually see a relation between cups and balls and coin flux |

My main question is to do with visibility -
How many can see the coins? Cups and balls are much more visible, especially for street performances. You may be able to build a segue, but being honest few will see the link. I'd just do C&B

Just picking up this thread as I also open my Coin Set with Coin Flux 2,
I completly agree with Ray Haining, I do not see why multiple transposition effects would not work in this context particularily as the premise is totally different. Coin Flux 2 is a coin matrix effect, very simple, clean and strong. Probably the cleanest Coin Matrix out there in my opinion and can be a Magician Fooler when presented right. Cups and Balls is a totally different plot and premise. Also I do not see why Multiple Transposition effects cannot play together well as an overarching and recurring theme. |

Now when I have had some time to make myself familiar with the trick, I can also see how you can use both tricks in a routine. I have come to see coin flux as a "money trick" and cups and balls as..well..cups and balls.
But when I now see this thread again I want to try out yellowcustard's idea again |
