I have a question. Let's assume that a person comes up with a killer idea for an effect. Let's also assume that it is a great idea. How would you recommend selling the effect to the magic community. What is the procedure for marketing a trick. Do I approach a dealer? DO I market it myself? What is the typical procedure? Is there someone you can put me in contact with?
Another question is... What if someone else claims originality for this trick. TO my knowledge it is an original idea but I haven't read all there is on billets and the center tear. Suffice it to say that I devised a foolproof method to have all the time in the world and all the cover you need to imperceptibly read the info written in the center of the paper. Also the spectator folds the paper 4 times as opposed to 2 and all of the evidence id hidden or destroyed at the end of the effect. 2 possible effects are a killer time prediction and a clean as a whistle drawing duplication. But how do I know if it is a published move or not? Jeff Blum |

Hi Jeff:
First off, welcome to the Café. We're glad you're here. Secondly, there is a specific forum here that's meant for questions like yours. It's called "Let There Be Magic," and it's located near the bottom of the menu. Why don't you repost your message there, and see what kind of answers you get? Again, welcome to the Café.
Cheers,
