I am curious as well. I thought that volume 5 was due at the end of 2013. Marshall Petersen of H&R has been the point man on this and is a member here. I am hopeful that he will spot this thread. The Nick Trost series is nothing short of wonderful. Marshall had posted that it was Nick Trost's wish to release these in volumes rather than one large work like Stewart James in Print. All we can do is wait and hope for some good news from H&R Magic.

I guess I should catch up and order volume four...and then five in December...wonderful tomes. Both will help get me through the winter. Thanks so much for the heads up on volume five.

Man oh man 2014 has turned out to be a banner year and an exercise on how to budget creatively with little money. Getting close up magic started in this country is a lot harder than the US. And this year, when I am not a bit flush with cash (read "broke") there is:
The new Simon Aronson book The Complete Al Leech Genii available digitally (finally) offline available from Lybrary.com Volume 5 of the Nick Trost series. It's a good thing I rarely buy individual tricks. The bad thing is I am hopelessly addicted to PC gaming. ARGGGHHH decisions, decisions!!! Oh well, eating is highly overrated. |

I have several books of Nick Trost, his The Card Magic of Nick Trost, and Subtle Card Creations, Volume 1 & 2. Right now a favorite I have performed several times is Cards of Coincidence page 58 of subtle card creations vol.1, this is a killer. I like these type of card tricks, I know there is set ups on some of these but they are awesome. Now this leads me to my next question Trost as 6 of these volumes are any of the others 3,4,5,or 6 better or are all about the same. Looking to buy but I am on a budget. I did just pick up Steve Beam's book Semi-automatic card tricks volume one real cheap used, haven't looked thru it yet.

Yeah there is so much material on Nick Trost it can drive you crazy. Did not know you had access to the Magic Castle. I ordered some playing cards from them last month, and asked if I could get them autograph by one of the magicians performing there., They said no way, unless you know someone here at the Castle. You have any connections??
