I just finished reading tru the manuscript
and to tell the truth it was like opening the pandoras box . in it were 5 effects that could change the way you look at card magic again . just 5 effects , but they are reputation makers . the magic in them is visual stunning and captivating . so here I am to make a run down of wha you will find in this chest of treasures for the serious card magician first of all the effects in my opinion range from nearly self working to intermediate skill all you need to know is simple card sleight like a double . mexican turnover . marlo's tilt and a sloppy second deal { no vegas stuff } anyway lets start on the effects number 1 you will find is MIXED CARGO which is a very good novel concept, it revolves around the well known card to a chosen number . but with a difference . a card is chosen and lost in the center of the deck . a second card is chosen and its value is noted . as many cards are dealt from the top of the deck to reveal the chosing card laying there face up saying hello to everybody , at the chosen number { audience are already saying this guy is cool } but its still not over yet , for you still have 3 face down piles on the table which in turn are turned face up only to reveal the other mates of the chosen card . for the effect which you are getting unfortunatly there is only one setback to the trick that is it involves some partial stacking { but then again all the good tricks involve some stacking of some sort } so for now until further audience testing on the streets and my local pubs I rate this effect a 7/10 for the 2nd effect we find in the book is one which I highly regard and I'm sure will be one of my favorites THE THREE WIZARDS THE THREE WIZARDS is quite an ingenius plot especially cos it revolves around a story of 3 great magicans of the world ,these are david blaine { should have been my name here instead } harry houdini and david Copperfield I like the concept of using 3 well known magicians because the audience can visualize these people so relate what is happening in the ruitine to their type of magic basically this is not just one trick actually its 3 different tricks implemented into 1 routine the first part revolves around david blaine . you have a card chosen and signed and returned to the pack . now comes a triumph type of trick { I was expecting card levitation but anyway } the deck is shuffled face up and face down only to rearange itself with just one card face up in the face down deck . and you guessed correctly its the blaine card for the second magician in the list the great harry houdini what could be better than the ambitous card plot , a card is chosen and signed in the memory of harry its locked in the middle of the deck only to find itself back on the top having eluded the 51 cardboard guards sourrounding it , this is repeated again with the same results , finally its locked in a jail cell { really the card case with a rubberband around it } and placed on top of a glass so the spectators can keep guard on it aswell for the last magician we have the great illusionist david Copperfield { not the charles dickens one }is a chosen card which like all the others is lost in the pack . now you announce the david Copperfield will be the exact number from the top as the value of the top card . so you turn the top card and unfortunatly for you its the david copperfiled card in our example the 6 of clubs , but you seem to be un-aware of this { or at least the audience thinks so HA HA SUCKERS} so you lay the top card aside and start counting the cards on the table 1 2 3 4 5 and finally number 6 . for the first time you ask the name of the david copperfilds card . when they say the 6 of clubs . you announce that only david Copperfield could do suck a greatillusion that is to transpose from one place to another , you turn the 6th card over and its the chosen card . now for the climax of the whole routine . the suckers now should be thinking about the card that you showed as the six of clubs and you layed aside you turn it over only to show that's its our friend harry houdini having escaped again from his restraints . then who is in the box . well of course our friend david blaine wrapped in a straight jacket full of sedatives and banging his head against the wall{ and yes I'm not a blaine fan . I'm a vernon one } ahhhh finally finished brb making a whiskey & coke so what can I say about this routine its super , brilliant and best of all requires no set up or gaffed cards ,thats right folks its totally impromptu . there is only one thing which might scare people off and that's the second deal but trust me even a really sloppy one will suffice as long as you tilt the pack like I do . what else can I say this sure gets a 10+ so you took the journey tru the desert the blistering sun is scorching your skin your dying for the next oasis of card knowledge to sooth your thirst . and there in the distance you see it shimmering our next miracle trick . your crawling steadily towards it when a cute hooker tries to seduce you and stop you from reaching your goal . but your determination wins you push her to the side , still give her 20 bucks for her trouble and walk to the next illumination that is the maccabre the horrifying the deadly THE VOODOO DECK { I really enjoyed writing that } so the 3rd trick in the manuscript THE VOODOO DECK revolves around what I call the sympatetic cards briefly the deck is cut in two piles a card is chosen turned face up put back in the pile . the other pile is spread to reveal the mate of the chosen card face up in the nude screaming for help . this is repeated a second time with the same results . for the last time a six happens to be chosen { note I never mentioned force , ok ok a six happens to be hqqq hmmmm un-freely chosen by the spectator } when to other pile is spread it is found that the other 3 sixes are now face up { *** scary the number of the beast , heeeeeeeelllllllpppppp the end of the word is coming } what can I say . this is another novel effect from the mind of totally crazy people { for all the guys at the underground collection pm me for the number of my psychiatrist , he unavailable now tough cos after listening to my case he ended up under psychiatric supervision himself }anyway the plot is simple and with the patter suggested is quite fun to perform . unfortuanly we have the drawback of having to do some inital preparation { aka stacking the deck} but then again the effect compensates the preparation I would say 7/10 aswell for now untill further testing for all of those who have endured to listening my stupid lines so far I congratulate you for being so determined and for having nothing else to do but to read some psychotic guys reviews so here we are to the 4th effect in our manuscript of wonders . PAIN ,STRAIN & BACKACHE { what you get after performing this effect to three gorgeous blone teenagers } now this effects moves around a plot which I use in one of my card effects { you guys ripped me off I'm gonna sue you , my lawyer will call in the morning , JUST JOKING OFF COURSE} actually I like your method better cos its more streamlined and easyer to do . so to make it short 8 cards are layed down the table and one is chosen by a process of elimination now you proceed to to divine the identity of the card via a medical symptom identifier hence the name of the trick . you turn a card over and its the king of hearts so you say that the chosen card is not the king of hearts . you turn a second card over and its another king . you turn a 3rd card over and its another king . so from this you deduce that the chosen card is the final king . but to the horror of your reputation its not a king its an ace . but as a good magician you always have something hidden up your sleeve . so you point to the 3 face down kings . snap your fingers and turn them face up only to have them magically transform them into aces . so as I said this a different method to an effect that I use . I suggest this one cos its more easy more streamlined and requires minimum preparation actualy all you need is to find two sets of 4 cards as for audinece reaction I can already tell you this effect is a sucker and a wonderfull reputaion maker in all its forms , the only problem I find with this trick is in my opinion is that the patter supplied totally sucks !! . so to compensate I will offer the patter that I use { and who knows maybe they will implement it in a revision of the manuscript } here is the patter an some fine points that I use with this effect the patter revolves around the plot of gypsy fortune telling by using the acient art of cardistry { to be able to read future event tru playing cards or tarot cards } I mention that 3 random cards are gonna divine the the colour , the suit , and finally the value of the chosen card . so when I turn the first kingi say that this card tell me what the colour of the card is . when I turn the second card it tels me the suit . and when I turn the final king I mention the missing king . only to have them turn their card to be the ace . { at this point I say somthing like sh** I messed up did I mention that I'm still learning this trick ect ect . a bit ofacting helps here } now to magically transform the face down kings I roll up my sleeves and use the push tru the fist change { color changing knives style } I think it give the change more suspence and magical air than just turning a card over { I mean it gives the effects of the card changing as you are pushing ittru the fist having said that and knowing most people will use this patter and theme instead of the suggested one I dub this trick with a 9/10 { by the way people who use my patter should mail me 5 $ for all the effort I put in that patter , it took me 21 out of the 22 years that I'm old to come up with that patter } now finally to the last mirace of this manuscript { and you finally get will get rid of me } is a superb trick called HERE IT IS { personally I have already made plans to implement this trick as a closer } HERE IT IS! { also known as THERE IT WAS } is a very novel way card loacation with a nice kick in the spectators nuts in the end { yes that right itleaves them completely breathless } so lets start its a very simple to follow plot card is selected and lost in the deck deck is spread face up and one card is face down with TURN ME OVER written on it . on the other side it has LOOK IN THE BOX . you put this card aside and look into the box only to find a card with LOOK AT THE TABLE written on it . you quickly point to the card you layed aside earlyer to find that it now has HERE IT IS turning this card over proves to to be the inital selected card. now for the kicker ending you explain that you did the trick the hard way . for the easy way you say you just had to turn the pack into a completely different colour than the chosen card . you turn the pack and spread it and surprise its has changed to a completely different colour than the chosen card what can I say this trick left me breatless too as I was reading thru it . the only downside is that it requires some good initial preparation but as a closer this trick sure kills them on the spot . so WHAT you still afraid of swithing decks . ok since I'm feeling generous ill give you my two favorite methods of swithing decks method number one : this if you are performing seated . under the guise of moving the chair closer to the table . the hands naturally go down the sides to grabe the chair so you can jolt it a bit closer . now what a wonderfull cover for one pack to go in a left jcket pocket and for the other to come out of the right as your doing this { and stupid adience just looks by this HURRAY} method number 2 : if your standing after having finished your trick and you have the card case in your right jacket pocket while the prepared pack in the left both hands go in the pocket at the same time to look for the case you take out the case with the right while you swith with the left . you start to put the deck back in the case but then you say why not just do a last one for the good sake { I know some magicians hate this remark but this has been audience tested by me and trust me it works } again if you are using one of these 2 methods to switch decks from now on feel free to mail me another 5$ . now having said all of the above I can say proudly that this is trick deserves a 10 plus aswell so here we are at the ending of my review well not before I give a general review of the manuscript now the manuscript comes as a leather bound gold hinged pdf file { haha fooled you } for the manuscript it is very well written and easy to understand . the only drawback it has is that I'm a visual kind of guy so I like to looks at pictures and diagrams but unfortunaly this manuscript has none . the good thing about is that its really cheap { actually I think the people at colective underground have a very low self esteem to charge such a ridiculous low price } actually what I suggest is to revise the manuscript add some pictures and diarams of the sleights in action and raise the price to 15 sterling instead of 10 . one final thing this is not over yet altough I tested the tricks on my relatives and close friends I still havent taken them to the dangerous jungle of the audience out there . so until then I hope this partial review helps in making that desicion about buying this good manuscript while it is still selling that that cheap price . here is the website where you can get it { http://www.underground-collective.com } see you in a couple of days with the results of the jungle testing yours faithfully sniper1
