And when we do forget, remember September 11th.
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

About 7 years ago, I was sitting in the lounge at my home terminal in Wisconsin (I drove truck for 20 years) and picked up a copy of a paper from Milwaukee. The front page had a half page article (above the fold) about a construction company that does Christmas decorating for the local affluent folk this time of year. Somwhere buried in section B page 4 (somewhere buried in other words) was about a 1 column 2" blurb that read "on this day in 1941, the Japaneese attacked Pearl Harbor". Strange how priorities change over time. I will personally never forget.

Remember the Bismark?
Most likely not. December 7th and September 11th will eventually fade from memory as well. Replaced by more current calamities.

...or the Maine! Although technically, there's a quantum difference in the destruction of one ship as opposed to an entire base and/or building complex.

If you ever get the chance to see the USS Arizona memorial in Pearl Harbor, please do. It is a sobering reminder of the death and destruction of war...
