I sometimes wonder what a full time mentalist earns these days...if they do corporate, private, and self-funded stage shows, after tax...i wonder what the average income might be?
i would consider £31,000 to be a decent living wage (that's about two grand a month after tax), so that's about $48500 US... ^for a single person I would add..

However (knew that was coming, didn't you), I suppose that my point is merely one of semantics. Apparently I have failed to communicate what I mean. One can surely be successful at achieving a goal. No question about it. I do believe that being a successful anything has a different denotation. A person that is successful in any field has attained a certain level of attainment. These of course, can and often include personal goals. The difference is that I believe the term 'successful mentalist' (or any profession for that matter) carries with it a certain degree of external goals which are measurable. In the case of our art I believe that this is being paid to perform. It is probably immaterial how frequently you perform. That differentiation can fall into pro or semi-pro. But, the fact that someone approaches you and offers you real money (not a hundred bucks) to perform at any venue where people gather puts you into the one of the pro categories, at the very least. After that is established, then we can talk about degrees of success and whether or not you are any good. That's my thinking and I don't think that I can be an clearer than that. Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year, Scott

Best wishes, Scott p.s. This can increased substantially by only working certain venues, adding BOR and readings, or adding any related revenue streams.
