I'm looking for instruction on this type of trick, where you can put something in your pocket and later turn the pocket inside out to show it's empty. I remember there was a release on this; is Empty pocket the only thing out there? I'd like to use something like this for hopping halves coin trick. Thanks |

Why would you need a gimmick to show pockets empty? There is a very old technique to do this that I belive I first read in one of Blackstone's books. (Senior). Learning this simple slight would be much more versatile.

There are techniques to do that using slights. Ask in secret sessions.

I am not sure of the value of showing the pockets empty in this manner. He does it ti indicate that the effect is over -- after the kisses.
As a second vanish it is weaker than the first one from the hand, and introduces questions in a "rewind" that a spectator may not have thought of. The open packets may not be appropriate for all clothing and character. Consider using a coin purse or other container (maybe Rubinstein's rattle purse). Taking coins from your pocket and replacing them might be natural in street busking but not in a parlour setting or close-up. What si the story told after? Do you want them to remember the astonishment of your empty hands, or the silly clothing display?

Hi Steve!
I agree! Hi Ken~ All like you said! Also, I lost count of how many times he repeated! IMHO, toooolong, toooofast, and toooomuchfingerflinging. He looks like a bright lad. Maybe with experience--and a bit of mentoring?

Greg Wilson has something similar and useful. I think he may have called it the all-around vanish. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. It's where instead of showing your pockets inside out and empty, you ditch the coin or object in the process of reaching both hands into your pocket and showing your hands to be empty.

Seems to me that the showing the pockets empty is anti climatic and not necessary. It takes me from thinking great slight of hand to I wonder if there is a slot in his pants that drops the coins down his pants... Or wherever.
