I'm taking a poll here as I'm really interested in hearing peoples thoughts on this question.
As many of you know, I offer many products for magicians. Many of them are designed for kid shows but some of them can be used for older audiences. When I release a product, most of the time I put the entire video online along with it. I do this for a reason, because I want entertainers to see first-hand the entire entertainment value of what the performance looks like in a show. Nothing to hide sort of thing. This gives the person a chance to contemplate if the routine will work for them or not. Wondering your thoughts on this. Do you think it's irritating to sit and watch the entire 4-5-6 minute routine on a new product that I have released? Would people rather see a quick 2 minute video highlighting just the strong points in the routine? I do understand there are those that will watch the promo video, never buy anything, but take from it. (One liners, bits of business etc) I guess that is the downside for me. Any thoughts? Tommy

I like your way, and I can always skim through it if I don't feel like watching the whole thing at the time. Or you could do both ways and people can pick.

Tommy, I think your reasoning is sound, and I have no doubt they help your sales. They have certainly encouraged me to buy your products. Please keep pressing RECORD.

Personally, I am far more likely to buy something if I can see the routine. I have the occassional great idea, but most of the stuff in my show is more-or-less someone else's. So seeing how something fits really helps me. Actually, just yesterday I was trying to re-work my opener and I suddenly realized how your Blooming Wands could fit right in. To be fair, I haven't purchased yet because it's a bit out of my budget, but believe me - it's number one on my wish list now.
The other thing to keep in mind is this: it might feel kinda lousy thinking that people are using your bits without buying anything, but even those people do buy stuff sometimes. And if you get them in the habit of watching your videos every time you put one out, you've got them in the habit of watching your ads. I get how, in principle, it might be kinda crappy, but in practice it's probably a big benefit for you. Anyway, for me, I really hope you continue to show the full routines

Oh - one other point; one of the strengths of your routines is how long they run. I'm guessing your average routine runs seven or eight minutes. Most other props come with two or three minute routines. By putting up the full video you really highlight that strength. That's the reason I bought the Measle Wand from you.

Yep, seeing your full routine for the lopsided cyclops is what sold me on it and led to my purchase. I appreciate them. You can make almost anything look good in a 20 second highlight reel, but to see a routine work with a group of actual kids is awesome. Thanks for doing it!

I think kid show performers get sold when they see it is a worker...and having a 5 minute routine to see sells that point...

I bought potty time because my preschoolers were watching it and soooo loved it. If I had just seen a 45 sec trailer it might not have sold me on it...

I like to see the whole routine. I rarely use it they way it's done on video, but it's nice to see the potential when performed by a pro who's worked with it for a bit.

WOW!
I was expecting mixed reviews but it is unanimous! Ok, I won't second guess myself again. . . today I have a new product just about ready for release. It's a routine I developed and have been using in my shows and I have the routine perfected and got a video today in a daycare, with some older kids too, as it is school vacation week. The kids responded just as they have been in all the shows I've performed it in but there was distraction after distraction of teachers walking in and out, walking in front of the camera. Extremely frustrating. So I will have to try again. So thanks for the responses especially Matt's as you've shined a lot of light on the subject!

I'll add my two cents and say yes, we like the full videos. Yours in particular because they show you working the routines in front of real live kids audiences.

Okay I changed my mind, we can't have something be unanimous, I HATE the full routine videos, so there

Can't wait for the new product. Can you share what price range you're looking at? Is it Comeback Bee territory, or Blooming Wands territory? Really looking forward to it either way
