Hi everyone,
Hope you can help me to find magic dealer or collector who owned illusion "I am sitting on it" by Greg Gleason. I checked online - nothing to find. Video will help you to understand the effect. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1wT17E1_Dg |

That is an illusion that costs over $1,200.00, it was made by Collector's Workshop which is now part of Viking Magic. I just checked and they do not list it any longer on their website. The routine is most likely Greg Gleason's, but the prop is Viking's.
There is a trick published that tells how to use a regular deck of cards and the spectator finds he ro she is sitting on it. It is a very old trick. |

The trick described is Collector's Workshop Jumbo Card on Seat. I own and use it and it's GREAT. They made two versions, a mechanical one and an electronic one.
Yes, you can use a simpler version with a regular-sized deck VS. the not-inexpensive prop version discussed here, but in my opinion, the Prop version is much better for stage due to visibility, plus CW has a great routine and bits of business. Karrel Fox taught me his version many years ago using a regular deck, but, again, the CW version in my experience is stronger for stage. Here is a link: http://cw.vikingmagic.com/Jumbo-Card-On-Seat |

Rainboguy, thanks for the link, I searched all over the site and could not find it. Thought it was no longer available. Guess it was hiding in plan sight. Your the tops!
I posted the alternative because my search did not turn up the one inquired about, I was not stating it was as good as or better then the Collector's Workshop illusion. Just another way in case the OP did have the $1,044.00 to purchase the best. Although it is Out of Stock at the present. Artem_Shchukin, if you are interested, use the contact form on the website, George will get back to you on availability. |

Right Bill! It IS a very old trick!
The trick was published in a mimeographed, stapled booklet by Abbott's. I bought the book called "50 Crazy Card Tricks", in 1945 for $.50. From the standpoint of entertaining gags and tricks, it was worth a lot more than that! Most of the 50 tricks were: Frc a card and then....the revelations were clever. The "I'm sitting on it" trick was one of the 50!!!. I used it, back then, and occasionally over the years. The effect always plays! The method was ultra simple. Nothing mechanical. Years later, my friend, Karrell Fox, changed the method (!!!) and gave it a whole new life. It was printed in one of his Lecture Notes, and later in one of his books. He called it, "Magical Assets". Karrell "improved" the method. It was now even easier than before! It's a great bit for parlor and club. It plays better for a group. It's not a "one on one" bit. I still have my copy of "50 Crazy Card Tricks" !

Wiz Kid Qua-Fiki came up with his own version of it that was published in The Wizards' Journal #16- called "Signed Sit On It." No expensive chair required.

Chuck Fayne also has a version that he published in 1994 called, "The Card On The Seat And Other Loads In Your Pants." It's done with a poker sized deck and regular chairs.

Stumbled across a Parade by Richard Bloch a few months back in an old issue of Linking Ring with a three spectator version of I'm Sitting on It. Regular deck, any chairs, loads of mystery and laughs. Planning to use it this summer at a music festival on the Family Stage where I know it will go over well.

There is actually a "card on seat" variation in Jonathan Levit's DVD Ahead Of The Game (part of his multiple selection). With some simple routining you could do this with any chair.

I spoke with George last week on the time frame for production of the Card in Seat and he says he has the chairs but need to get his new electronics guy up to speed. Sounds like end of the year. If enough people call or email George asjing for it maybe he will move the time frame up!
