I have almost every pamphlet, packet trick & book that Paul has ever released.
I got the 1st two Gold Dust books which are excellent, even though I had most of the material from earlier works. The finale is the thinest & cheapest to buy of the 3, but it is crammed with a heck of a lot of effects. The stuff in this book(in fact all of Pauls books) is excellent, workable, doable material which I use & you will use. Paul makes his living from performing this material(only cards)and I ALLWAYS do at least one Paul Gordon effect every time I work. Do yourself a favour and buy this (infact all of the books0 If you don't someone will badly fool you with the material. 10 out of 10 from Mr Gordon. Mike Donoghue |

I noticed Paul was asking loads of magi for book swaps on facebook in the latter half of 2014. At least he's done the hard work in finding the best of the best before tweaking further for volume 3

By Paul Gordon's standards, he thinks if he takes an existing trick and changes the queens to kings, that becomes his trick. Or if he adds a cut or spreads face up instead of face down to reveal a selection it's his trick. Euan Bingham did some great reviews of his books. |

Dunno.
Buy them and find out. Question is though if, by your own admission, "that's the problem with magic these days" then why single out Paul Gordon? Are there others producing original material that we're not aware of then?

One thing in PG's favour, though I'm not his biggest fan by any means, is that at least he's out there 'doing it'. So many items these days are conceived by and sold to people who don't seem to perform at all, let alone for money.

If this booklet is more than just very minute variations, then I'd be interested to hear about it from Mike. As for singling him out, well, this thread is about him. It'd be weird if I jumped into this thread and started talking about Morgan strebler's plagiarism and lack of ethics. |

If only certain people stuck to performing and stayed out of publishing until they had something of actual value to add. As for people who publish and don't perform, too many issues with this one |

Well if you want some advice about what to truly buy via the written word, let me try and sum it up in just one simple phrase:
STUDY, PRACTICE, PERFORM MAGIC BY VERNON.

Vernon was lucky to have plied his trade before the internet. Vernon is a legend and deservedly so. But if he were producing magic today some people would be pointing out similarities to past effects and accusing him of plagiarism.

Can anyone confirm whether this book and the others in the Gold Dust series contain re-written material or simply re-printed? And does Paul explain non-standard moves or refer you to other texts? I have Nocturnal Creations or whatever it's called and remember being slightly surprised at how often this happened.
