I really like the idea of using a pendulum to show the audience how our subconscious mind works and what it is capable of.
So far I have mostly read about pendulum effects and demos for only one participant. Where can I find ideas on how to do a pendulum demonstration for the entire audience (Everybody holding a pendulum which are distributed to the people before the show)? I also want to use this demonstration to find a good subject for CMR. Who has done it? Any tips on how to perform it? |

I have used a "Radial Pendulum" with four people holding/controlling a single pendulum -- and the group gets very involved in the process.
but, I question the value of the "everyone holds one" approach. There is great value in having one person serve as a witness for another, and of "taking turns" built on confidence and trust. Also, some folks in an audience may thrive on an "in the lime-light" guiltless ego stroke. Having everyone do this at once removes the "hey, look at me" reward. A first-time "swinger" has done something very profound for them, and will want to be seen. ...... Your comment about CMR implies that you expect some to fail in the experiment. Maybe I misunderstood. What is the value of having some in the audience be "better than" others?

Two of my ebooks, Dr. Bill's Bend and Trybil, contain full audience pendulum demonstrations. DBB shares the wonderful routine Steve Cohen performed for the entire audience on his TV special, Lost Magic Decoded. Trybil has an awesome full audience approach, contributed by pendulum guru Tony Razzano. Hope this helps.

I find this topic to be very timely. I have a method that I have never tipped which allows even a very large audience to clearly see pendulum action. I will be including it in my lecture at MindSummet in Germany this May. Until then, however, I would like to keep it under my hat.

Hey Christopher, does your method involve every member of the audience having their own pendulum as requested by the OP? Either way, knowing the quality of your work (coincidentally, I was just looking at your books yesterday and was reminded how much I like them and how they influenced me) I have high expectations!
And another vote for Fraughton's incredible performance piece, To Control Ten Thousand Minds! Good catch, Clairvoyant. By the way, last I checked Steve Cohen's special was available to watch on Amazon. Check it out if you want to see a wonderful performer doing a full audience pendulum effect with a great kicker (and much more). |

Thanks guys for your recommendations, I really appreciate it. A lot of study to do..
@funsway: I do not intend to make anybody look bad in this demo. I would point out to the audience that it doesn't work immediately for everyone, but everyone can learn to control the pendulum with their mind. Everyone can take their pendulum with them after the show and try it with their friends. A few people will have immediate success (and will show it).. and out of those people I would pick a participant for CMR. But, of course, this is just my theory, I will have to try it before I know if this works. |

In a small lady´s only psychic show. Before the Q&A I let them experiment with the pendulum and answer her own question before I did my own work. Go, do it and experiment. If you have a group open to the experience, you will get fantastic results every time. Maybe not "fantastic" in your own terms, but you must go with everything that happens and be astute to use it in your favor. Best

No worries.
By the way, Luke Jermay also put a idea in his book 3510 on how to make pendulum movements visible to the whole audience: Use a slinky! |

I've never done a presentation where the entire audience has a pendulum. I have performed pendulum effects on-stage, though. Can I share an idea or two about this...even though it is a little off topic?
There are two ways the audience can "see" what's going on with a pendulum. The first is through the reaction of the spectator. This is often electric, if you have the foresight to choose a volunteer who is highly expressive. The second is through the actual movement of the pendulum itself. Obviously, you want the pendulum to be one that is visible...one that picks up the light. But I'll be very honest: I ALWAYS present the pendulum on a close-up or parlor show style setting. I ALWAYS present it in my Paranormal evenings...but I've taken the pendulum out of my stage show unless it's a stage show where the client has a camera and large screen available to aid in the visuals of the presentation. Why? It's for the same reason that I ONLY present Luna to small groups and use MOABT for the large stage shows. I think that one lends itself to powerful experiences close-up (or at least "close") and the other is better suited to large groups. This is obviously a personal choice. I know a number of performers who use pendulums on-stage with great success. I am not one of them. In the SMALL settings, though, I will often take a number of pendulums with me and, after presenting the introductory routine to one person in the audience, I will pass out the pendulums to other people so they can have the experience as well. I really see the pendulum more as an intimate presentation type of prop, personally. David

If I were to do stage work, I think I would like baskets outside the entry doors and have baskets there...fill it full of shoelaces and ribbons etc...those that want to can take one on the way in..then you can ask them to use a ring or keys that they have on them if they want to join in...
