I think it was World Book Encyclopedia that exposed the multiplying golf balls in the entry on "MAGIC."
Although I don't advocate exposure of any kind, I kind of agree with this statement by Henry Hay from _The Amateur Magician's Handbook_: -----quote----- Incidentally, when the methods of a Cardini or a Nate Leipzig are explained, they seem more like magic than the tricks themselves. The sleight-of-hand man is the only performer who can never be made ridiculous, and may even grow in stature, by exposure. -----end quote----- Here's a link to a jpeg Cardini's exposure--in the _Chicago Tribune_--of producing cards from the back palm: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=......&theater ----- Amado "Sonny" Narvaez

People complained about the Masked Magician but there were only two types that really watched the show; Magicians and people wanting to learn magic. Did it ruin your business, it didn't ruin mine.
There also has been many documentaries discussing the tricks, as well as books in the library. Only people searching for the information will find it in the end, its not being broadcast on the evening news. |

I have little doubt that if every magician boycotted Wikipedia it would have zero effect on their bottom line. They don't have a bottom line, they are a non-profit. Quote:
If they choose not to respect us, then I think we all should boycott them. And as a non-profit, they are not bound by your economic chains and are truly 'free' ... give praise and glory to God for it. -JoeJoe

If you're performing magic, what do you think the chances are that someone will say," You know, I saw how that was done on Wikipedia. " ?
Let me guess, probably never. I just wouldn't waste my time worrying about it. |
