If you are interested, go find a tape measure and pick any circle in your house. Measure the outside of the circle and send me the measurement.

Miraculously, I will tell you the diameter of the circle-shaped object!

This can even be performed on Skype, but I am getting too many requests. I have not put a price on this yet, but I have named it "Sagan."

I just did this for a math teacher on Skype. When I told her the diameter (i actually used my "radii variation"), she just stared at me speechless and then we lost signal.

Read "Contact" by Carl Sagan when I was a kid, which had a lot of math in it that was left out of the movie. Loved that book. If I remember rightly, the epilogue has a computer finding a pattern in the digits of Pi that codes what? A circle...

Basic maths..you use the circumference to work out the radius using Pi, then multiply the answer by 2 to get the diameter.

1. It is almost certainly a tongue-in-cheek post
2. The post was made on Pi day (March 14th)
