..and I was looking for some recommendations. That being the case I'd like to concentrate on decks that are currently available, but I don't mind hearing about others.
I prefer non-modern looking decks. A deck that is aged or looks aged would be great. I was heavily leaning toward the Chelman and was poised to purchase, but I happened to chance upon a post on this very board by the creator/publisher [or whatever his status] and he said that only the majors are marked. Glad I found out about that because it's a deal killer. I don't remember seeing it mentioned on any of the websites I saw it sold on [I can read newspaper French ok-ish]. Right now I'm thinking seriously about the Medieval Tarot on card-shark, but is the entire deck marked or just the Majors? How do I find this stuff out? I love the Carnie but $145 is a bit too much. |

As far as I know and the description says it is fully marked:

I own and highly recommend the Carney Tarot from Outlaw Effects. It is beautiful, feels nice and old, and has made a great impression on those I have shown it to.
Edit - sorry, I missed your Carnie reference the first time |

If the Carnie is not your thing, maybe the Marseille from Divination Magick?
You can find it at: http://www.lebanoncircle.co.uk/collectio......le-tarot |

Are you willing to spend $100.00 for a fantastic marked tarot deck?

You won't be disappointed with the Carnie though.

The spectator will just give cuts the deck to complete the experiments. So touch will not be impediment, I think... Of course is not required, but is better to work for that direction at all times, to keep the deck, because spectators are not careful as we. I really love: http://www.divinationmagic.com/ |

Carnie Cursed is my personal favorite deck. Dark Dawn is my second favorite - Both from Outlaw Effects. Both are only major Arcana decks but I believe Carnie Cursed can be upgraded complete if you want. If you are doing simple spreads the majors are fine. I don't use the markings but the cursed mark system is large and easy to recognize in low light settings. I prefer the cursed to the regular carnie but that's just me. I am very interested in checking out the div magic product but have not seen or used it in person.
Also - you can always message R. Roth and see if he can hit a little closer to your price range. Its possible he will be able to do a bit lower. It certainly wouldn't hurt to try. |

You could check out the Tarot of the 4 corners, also by Outlaw.

I ordered the Carnie the regular one not the ones with clowns and the full marked deck. I'll be ordering the medieval marked deck as well.

Risking redundancy here I know, but let me cast yet another vote for the Carnie tarot. If the art direction of this deck appeals to you, I can assure you that you will be impressed by the quality of the deck once you get it in your hands. These people do excellent work.

Just got the Medieval deck and I'm quite pleased. The markings are subtle and it will take some time learn how to scan the card without looking like I'm, well, looking for something. But it's in a faux-aged style--something I wish were more common--and it looks very authentic to the untrained eye.
