Bombs for sale: Dangerous explosive targets sold legally
The FBI has warned that exploding targets legally sold for target practice have potential use as explosives by criminals and extremists, and bystanders have been injured when they detonate. So why are they widely available at sporting goods stores as well as online? TODAY national investigative correspondent Jeff Rossen reports. For those who do watch the video tommy posted, here is the story of the women who lost her hand by the fridge.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/natio......6188925/ It was her fault to stand near the explosion, not the manufacturers so why can see even sue? Cannot she be sued for stupidity? And anyway, who the needs to practice for hunting fridges?? It’s cold day when a fridge is ‘retired’.

(because I wouldn't have looked) in the townhall.com. piece, I like the statement.. -A bomb is a weapon that is illegal to make. In the United States, manufacturing a bomb requires numerous federal licenses.- so to any terrorist out there, make sure you get the right licences or ITS ILLEGAL

Her lawsuit, which was filed in 2012 in the U.S District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, alleges H2 Targets' products were defective in design and that both the manufacturer and distributor failed to provide adequate instructions and warnings. It also alleges negligence on the part of James Yaney Jr., who owns the property where the accident occurred. Both the complaint and the defense make sense, and we don't know enough of the facts to say whether the lawsuit is silly. For example, as to the manufacturer, they definitely have a duty to warn to SOME extent. At least arguably, they should have warnings like "do not use more than such and such amount on a single target," or "make sure you stay at least such and such distance from target" or "don't place explosive inside rigid objects" or perhaps other things. We don't know what warnings were provided, so we can't really go further. As to the property owner, it's easier to imagine negligence. Whatever warnings did come with the product, he might have ignored them. Or he may not have told the lady that there were explosives in the fridge. (It's a little ironic how quick people are to call the lady stupid, when in fact they're doing so based in part on unjustified assumptions about what the facts are.) |

There is nothing wrong with people being stupid, I meet them every day.
If her friend didn't tell her, then she's stupid for hanging with a dude that would put her in the position in the first place.

Gee I cannot imagine why anyone would think putting 20 to 40 of these things that explode into one package then standing close to it and detonating it would be dangerous. Who would have thunk it?
If I were to agree with you. Then we would both be wrong. As of Apr 5, 2015 10:26 pm I have 880 posts. Used to have over 1,000
